Then maybe you should start a thread Diesel consmuption of motor vessels and then go off topic and talk about water depths in Portsouths harbours.

Then we can make an un-necessary complaint about it, refuse to admit we're wrong and everyone is happy.

and I thought I was argumentative...

Why would I want to start a thread on the subject of diesel consumption of motor vessels, in which I have no interest at all when I am interested in the lack of water in VStep's rendition of Portsmouth Harbour?

Hiya guys :)

Off-topic posts are a common occurrence, and something most of us are guilty of (including me :-[), but surely we could work this one out before it gets personal ;)

I can't see that much of a problem here in all honesty, most of the posts do seem relevant.  Portsmouth Harbour is still being discussed, even if it is slightly different to the way the thread started ;)

Maybe someone would like to bring us back on-track? ;D

Regards.

DJM/Carl.

Hi HMS Borky.

Any idea where in the harbour that picture was taken? I'm trying to figure it out, but I can't place it.

Thanks.

[edit] It does look like it might be at Fareham...

Unfortunately, I have nich herrausgefunden. But it must be in a yacht harbour somewhat must be away of Portsmouth Harbour. But it belongs to Portsmouth Harbour.

I can't see many vessels getting anywhere near that area, great shot though :)

I can see the image there Luc, but I can't see anywhere that explains exactly where the photo was taken :-\

Maybe I'm not looking hard enough ;)

OK, it's definitely in Padstow.

So the picture of Portsmouth Harbour was taken with a very good telescopic lens and managed to get Padstow instead. Hmmm....

[edit] 'ere, 'ang abart! E's nicked the piccy!

HMS Borky, why did you delete the post? It was a good picture even if if it was 250 miles off target.  ;D

There are some good shots of Portsmouth Harbour on this web site, lot of general ones  of Pompey so it needs a bit of trawling through:

Truly, it IS there and I can see it.

The picture is a bit old, but it also includes the larger boat that I sold earlier this year.

See attached...
