I must say, the Edmund Fitzgerald is a interesting ship. I also like the design of the nuclearship savannah.

Hi, the boat I would most want to see on the game is the Stena HSS Voyager which goes from Belfast to Stranraer. I go on it a couple of times every year. It has sisterships going from other places as well.
The smallest one out of HSS Discovery, HSS Voyager, HSS Explorer and HSS Carisma would probably be the Carisma.
There are loads of photos on www.simplonpc.co.uk. Scroll down to Ferry photographs then go to Stena Line HSS Ferries.

Though another ship which would be great would be the Stena Lynx 3 which is another fast ferry. It goes from Rosslare to Fishguard.Capacity, 650 passengers, 148 cars. It is a nice small fast ferry. It looks rather like the Seacat which used to go from Belfast also.

Hi Nathanael,

I agree, a car loading HSC would be great. Guess, the most suitable fast craft for several existing areas would be one of the wavepiercer type, as your mentioned Seacat or Lynx. The HSS 1200, serving Hook van Holland - Harwich, was withdrawn from service a few month ago and the somewhat smaller HSS 900 "Stena Carisma" connects Sweden with Denmark. But wavepiercer type fast crafts are not as purpose built as the Stena ones.

Cheers

Hi again,
Thanks for your reply bottman. I suppose another type of ship I would like on the game would be the P&O Portsmouth Express. It is quite big. It can reach speeds of up to about 41 knots. It sails from Portsmouth to Cherbourg in France. There are photos of it on www.simplonpc.co.uk again. Another one would have to be the Brittany Ferries Normandie Express which is such a nice cool boat ;D. Photos yet again on simplonpc.
Thanks,
Nathanael

What about a Cable Ship.. Like Alcatel's C/S Lodbrog... it has 4 thrusters 2 fore and 2 aft, 2 main engines, its a DP2 ship so it could be cool to add a DP consol to the controle.
I could easily see a mission where you have to repair a fiberoptic cable in the north sea or in the pacific
I have worked on that ship and know what a mission like that should include so if you need any help :o)

or..

What about a seacran like The Swan (Svanen)

Used for eg building a bridge

I love the idea of the svanen and aswell as the Lodbrog ship. Can always have a heavy lift mission with the Svanen, maybe rebuild the Öresundsbron! ;)

Yesterday I was working and came to me an original idea!!

It would be nice to have OIL SPILL RESPONSE vessel and missions.
May be it would be great to create a "disaster" mission in which black crude oil its all over the sea, and with one of the Vessels (could be a small supply or tug, or simply something like de patrol boat) the oil has to be collected or just captured with oil booms, skimmers, etc.-

Tomorrow when I am back on the office I'll post some pics so you understand what I mean!  ;)

Hi guys,
first time I post here; well, first of all, let me say that's a really nice simulator. I hope with time it will be improved even more, as it happened with Microsoft Flight Simulator (I'm a FS fan and I still remember Flight Simulator II, about 20 years ago). As for which vessel I'd like to see added, well, that's one I'd like to see:

Knock Nevis, former Jahre Viking, Happy Giant, Seawise Giant; the biggest ship ever made. I know there's already a tanker, but well... that's almost 500 m; even Latitude could look short compared to it. What do you think?
Ciao,

  Corrado

P.S. Other pics:

I think a lot of people will get bored manouvering it beceaus it reacts to slow.

The Knock Nevis isn't a ship, it is an FSO (Floating storage and offloading), but the Jahre Viking was a ship.
somebody allready modelled it for Virtual Sailor.

I would like some more indland ships and enviroments.

I know, but in my view it's not boring;  :) trying to manouver this giant and to tow it, could be tricky (which means fun, for me).

Yeah, I know. I wonder if engines have simply been unmounted or if they're still there and that thing can still sail.

P.S. Another fine addition to SS ships could be the Glomar Explorer.

I am in the agreement with all that say " MORE CRUISE SHIPS " Having purchased 2008, I am
really missing my ADD-ON cruise ship OCEAN STAR. It is fine to run around in the little
stuff, but that is not where the challange is present. Getting large ships in an out of tight
moorings is the joy for me.

I am also very hungry for some decent bridge design. All the big ships have these great big
bridges and 3 controls with two monitors and the rest is plain. Where is the imagination in designing
a ship like that for the simulation.

The program also needs alot more missions and interactivity with those missions. One of the best
things Ship Simulator could do is open the add-on ability to users. That made Microsoft Flight Simulator
and Virtual Sailor the programs that they are.

Please..please..more Cruise Ships.

I love the program though!
