I get confused however with the controls on the modern ocean liner in NH
First time I had to reverse this:
It's not a
cruise ship, ocean liner, it's an
ocean liner! cruise ship!
Not quite. Olympic was refitted with extra lifeboats and bulkheads in the wake of the Titanic disaster. Britannic was launched in 1914 but was only used as a hospital ship since she was sunk in 1916, and had those large crane-like davits and more bulkheads to prevent what happened to Titanic.
I perfer the pre-Titanic disaster Olympic
But apart from the two visible things (davits and lifeboats) they are pretty similar in shape and design (from a game point of view, ignoring the bulkheads)
The differences don't stop there! There is a cowl vent on the port side of the 2nd funnel on Titanic that Olymic didn't have, the Olympic didn't have the closed foreward A deck prominade of Titanic, meaning the windows wouldn't be there if it was Olympic, the B deck windows on Olympic's side were evenly spaced out, unlike Titanic, as Titanic had additional rooms along her side that Olympic didn't, and the differences go on and on, as the 2 ships had a 1,004 ton weight difference!
In fact, from the bridge you could see one, that being where Titanic had a cowl vent, Olympic had an air shaft aft near the breakwater, and no cowl vent on her forecastle.
