Istanbul would indeed be a good one to have. A most intersting and challenging harbour.

Perhaps this one might make it into Ship Simulator 2010.  ;)

I was chatting to the incredibly talented Environment Developer at Vstep recently, and Istanbul came up. Too early for any promises, but i'm full of hope!

(Maybe the praise above will help  ;D )

Hi Terry
I Think Jersey and Guernsey would be good especially for a fast cat.

Any new ports would be nice :)

But, I think the Port Of Fleetwood is a nice interesting place, after all, I live right next door :D

What I think would be good about it in ship simulator is the fact that, the channel is VERY deep, and will take ferries (e.g. Stena Pioneer, Stena Leader, and other ships that come now and again) also, the marina is further up, where all the yachts, cruisers are etc. then there's a bridge which can be raised to let the Trawlers through to the smaller harbour where all the trawlers are based, then all the building's are around there that sort out and sell the fish etc.

I can also take lots of picture's if any of you are interested ;D

Funny how the Dutch would like more Dutch harbours, the ami's have 2 already and would like more ami-harbours.. the english already have 2 harbours, but want more... hahahaha

and i've got a hangover.. so not really sure if i counted correct..

Lets hope Vstep surprises one of you lot completely with a new country as there's lots to choose from:

http://www.ports.com/  and i guess there should be more; without instructions!

How about we stop arguing for this weekend and just populate an online server for a change?
I miss the windows of sailing with the guys on this forum alot.. what times?  hahaha

Regards,

Steiny

The tidal races around Alderney would be fun to navigate. But we need todes and currents in SS for that!

Jersey would be fun also, with the sills in the marinas, but again, that would need to be added to SS for it to show up.

I think the great lakes and thier ports would be cool especially with all the lock systems.
Possibly some eastern asian ports as well, but i don't really know of any in peticular.
I liked the port of sydney idea as well.
And finally I have to support Port of vancouver being it is home.
Unfortunately I think the gulf islands would loose something without tides they would still be interesting.
Vancouver does have a pretty diversified marine industry.
BC ferries,cruises
Port of Vancouver, Delta port, surrey-fraser port ( up the fraser river a ways)
many different bridges including swing and lift
Unrelated to the ports question I would really like to see some west coast towboating like towing and landing barges that would really add a new element to ship sim. Maybe log towing as well but it's a little slow.

Helsinki, Finland!
If someone has visited here (especially in summer) you know that Helsinki is very beautiful. We have lots of little islands and harbors. Helsinki is a cape so it is actually

For anyone not familiar with the background to Marty's joke, US Patent number 07106781 refers to a discrete multitone stacked-carrier spread spectrum communication method. To quadruple the laughs, it is also the working paper number for a meta-analysis of Oligopoly. This being among the first topics in the experimental economics.

Marty, I thought was hilarious! Thanks.

Hi Terry/Marty,
For the rest of us with only half a brain, I think that refers to broadband?

To quadruple the laughs, it is also the working paper number for a meta-analysis of Oligopoly. This being among the first topics in the experimental economics.

Oligopoly means being a seller in a sellers market, (not less than 3 competitors but not much more). You couldn't be referring to England's attempt to monopolise the tea market could you?  :o And you being an Brit you should hang your head in shame.  ;D

Regards, Dave

I'd like to see London as a harbour. What about rivers and lakes just for crusing and some river barges. Say the Thames, Eble, Mississipi, ect.
