Yep, i support you on that one hehe :D ;D

I think Dublin Port would also be another nice environment, a lot goes on in Dublin Port, Ferries everywhere, since its one of the Republic of Ireland's main ports.

I would love to see the Port of Vancouver( http://www.portvancouver.com/ ).  This would enable us to simulate the West Coast Trade between Canada and the US.  Canada needs a little representation in Shipsim.  The port of Vancouver is a scenic one also

Hi Sean,
How about BC Ferries from Tsawwassen to Nanaimo?
It’s a lot of effort to make the various environments, but I’d like to see the straits of Juan de Fuca / Georgia, including Victoria & Anacortes. One could then run a real ferry business!

Yes

and for those places, we need their respective tenders: "SS Nomadic" for Cherbourg, and "America" and "Ireland" for Queenstown ;D

The Nomadic is still around :o

If memory serves, it's currently in Belfast.

We should also have the areas she was supposed to go on her return voyage, like Plymouth Sound, a painting of which she had in her 1st class smoking room, called "Plymouth Harbor", if I remember correctly.

Also maybe Tasmaina And The Bass Strait (Extremely dangerous waters) might be kool for huge rogue waves.

Gday Mate.

How good would it be to sail the Sydney to Hobart. Considering there isnt much to do on Boxing day we could race them realtime.  ::)

Or even sail the Whitsundays or take the old Fairstar on a cruise to Noumea, Fiji, Solomon Islands etc.. and throught Boula Havari Passage (Spelling is wrong i know) and pass by Armadee Island (Lighthouse on the reef near Noumea) and then pull up at Norfolk Island Sail down to the North Island of NZ over to Port Melbourne then up the East coast and then sail in through Sydney Heads under the bridge and park it at the old casino.

Maybe someone out there will work on Australia/Pacific Islands.

One Day.

Gday denmo71,

Yes, Bass Strait is an interesting place, but it won’t be as much fun until the new sea model is available in Ship Simulator 2009.

In the present sea model, wave height is limited to 4 meters for two reasons: The model is not able to produce realistic waves much higher than that, and the ship dynamics can’t handle higher waves and produce realistic ship reactions.

More important for the Sydney-Hobart, wind does not act directly on ships, so sailing vessels have no realistic power. That, along with the need for a more complex set of user controls, is why there are no player sailing yachts in the present simulator.

Hopefully, 2009 may see a much better sea model, along with a chart table and a set of tools.
Regards,
Marty

Norfolk Virginia. Ive been there and they have the biggest natural harbor Ive ever seen. From what ive seen they have A coal pier, four container terminals that are huge (mearsk has a terminal there that we recently rode by and there was a container ship bigger than the vermass there loading) From what Im to understand they also have some of the biggest container crains in the world. The only downfall to Norfolk is they have The biggest naval base in the world, and also a naval museam (which Ive been to) that has a Iowa class battle ship. And being that this is on a river the smaller ships can go all the way up to richmond Va. Finaly they have lots of drydock companys, There is even one that built one of the counteys aircraft carriers in a city called NewPort News

I would like to see the Dover straight. it should include Dover, calais, Dunqurique, folkstone and bologne. That way we can cross the channel in ferries to any port in France and start our own company's.

I would definately agree here, I would love to see the Dover Straits, especially if a few of the current ferries were to be created as well for the routes

Has anyone thought of Liverpool? Has anyone suggested this before? South Hampton is one of the environments already built into Ship Simulator - but what about England's other big and world famous port? LIVERPOOL, with the river Mersey and and its approach channel from Liverpool bay has so much to offer in the way of cruising, towing, docking and anchoring. All types of vessels can be accomodated here. I've lived here all my life, so, of course, I'm biased. But, it is a world famous port and I'm amazed that no-one has considered this before.
