Thanks, TFM  :)

The project would be San Michele, the graveyard island of Venice. You could make it in parts (first the ground structure, then the buildings, then details, and so on)
There is again no poly limit for this one.

Here is alink to Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isola_di_San_Michele

If you are intersted I can post more pictures and information.

Thanks a lot, Thor

I'm currently texturing the rest of the harbour walls but this will take a while because they are a few kilomerters long.

Thanks Dexter.
Don't worry about the textures, that was no problem.

I don't konw the polycount at the moment, because I'm at school.

Hi!

First congratulations with the great work!!!
Looks wonderful!
Are you designing the whole lagoon or only the Island of Venice?
Please make the cruise terminal very realistic, then it will be as if you are on a real cruise  ;D

Are you going to send the environment to VSTEP when it's finished?
Or will you wait until the next CCC (if it ever comes) ?

How far along are we now?
We are good i time, but I don't think it will be finished before next year.

Thats a good question. There is a dock which would be big enough but the main problem is the depth. So I don't think it's possible.

Yes, we are modeling the whole lagoon without the industrial port. So you can enter the lagoon from the sea and explore the beautiful city of Venice.
I'm trying my best to model everything as detailed as possible and if you look a few pages back you will find some renders of the cruise terminal, but remember everything is work in progress.
If there is another CCC I will enter it fur sure, if not I'll send it to VSTEP.

I hope all questions are answered now and keep looking at the topic there will be some new renders soon.

Kind Regards,
Joey

Hi all,
after a long time here comes a BIG UPDATE  ;D

I worked hard during the last weeks and here is the result:

The Arsenale (Compare with this (http://80.95.161.114/shipsim/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=24027.0;attach=94190;image) and this (http://80.95.161.114/shipsim/forum/index.php/topic,24027.msg340700.html#msg340700) picture.)

A new repeatable bridge

Some more bridges and buildings

Repeatable church plus bell tower and some houses

The San Giorgio Maggiore island seems to be finished

Another bridge this time a larger one

A random shot showing the eastern end of the city

One more shot from the Giudecca canal featuring a vaporetto stop.

I hope you like it - more pics will follow soon!

Hi all,

Today I finished the San Michele island, the cemetery of Venice. This time I show the differnt steps it took me to make this island.

First I modelled the basic shape of the island.

Then I added some texture

The graveyard wall and the main entrance were also modelled

Then I placed some other buildings onto the island

As a finishing touch about 250 cypresses and countless tombstones were added

I hope you like it,

Joey

I don't know about the trees and tombstones but the whole island took two days to model and texture.
I will post some more renders tomorrow  ;)

Updates? I'd like to see it in SS!
EDIT: Is there anything I could do that in not too complicated?

I have got some big updates  ;D
I'll upload some renders later because I have to go to school.

It would be very nice if you could do a small bridge or a repeatable building, both not very complicated to do.

The bridge should look like this one:

For buildings just look a the renders of my buildings
