I was praying that she would arrive wednesday (because that is my free day of school), but sadly it did not happen, so the only thing way I could see her was on the webcam.
but I am now asking my dad to go for a little drive to the Maasvlakte 2, I definitly want to see her once.

Had these sitting in a folder for a few months now...

If I would look back on the total of ships I had spotted until now, I can say for sure... The Oasis is HUGE! I even had trouble finding spots to get some decent pictures of (mostly) the whole thing. I never thought this ship would even come close to any of of our Dutch ports because of its sheer size....

But enough chit-chat, here are the pictures. After waiting patiently for 5 years now!  :)

nice shots, had the same problem too that she didn't fit on my screen, even on the Lloydkade (Quay on the last picture) she was sometimes to big

I am pretty sure that if the scheepsvaartinspectie were to see that 3rd photo then the captain would be in big trouble.

Like most Dutch / Belgian dredgers, she is ridiculously overloaded.

I agree with that, but in The Netherlands, Belgium and some other countries it is legal to load the dredger so deep, dredgers have a so called "baggermerk" (dredging mark).
It is the same mark as a Plimsoll but with the dredging mark you can load much more.

The reason dredgers are allowed to load so deep is that they can dump their load in just a few seconds.

And they must be within 20M of the coast or 24hours away of a safe harbor

a so called dredge mark.

She was finally righted on Thursday and towed back to Southampton

I must be mad though - I heard from my mum she had grounded at about 1am, and booked coach tickets by 1:30 for Southampton  :doh:
