Today I visited the Willem van der Zwan, it is huge from the outside, but from the insife it is like a labyrinth.

First the Zeeland had to make space for the Afrika, so she will be able to unload her fish tomorrow.

I had a request from a friend his uncle this afternoon (he works on the Willem van der Zwan and gave me the tour), he has had a request from the office if the photos from the visit could be taken offline, so I had to follow this request and I have deleted the photos from the internet :'(

Wow - I am impressed they actually rebuilt her from hull up! Most in that sort of condition would surely be an economic write-off!

yes you are not the only one who was thinking that about the economical situation, but a few years ago the fishing industry was still very good.

last week the weather was good for some flying ;D
Powerboat from Bubbles was going to have a tour at sea

a nice full harbor for vlaggetjesdag (a traditional day in Scheveningen to celebrate the arrival of the "Hollandse nieuwe"(Dutch new Herring))

sadly the SCH-302 Willem van der Zwan will leave the harbor tomorrow, for the last time probably: the owner don't want to have her back in Scheveningen due to the depth (at her arrival they only had 0,50m UKC left) :(

and on our way back to Scheveningen.

the mighty Stanislav Yudin

small versus big

SC Connector

and the last bit of the nieuwe waterweg was a little bit rough

and back home this beauty was laying in the harbor, she had departed from Damen shipyard for sea trials, so she was brand new.
she is called Fast & Furious, well fast is she for sure (max speed of 22kts)
