Nice pic VS! ;D :2thumbs:

Interesting bow shape of the Hanse Spirit, looks like the nose of a 747.

Also what's that blue and yellow device that says "Snijkop" on the sign?
the Snijkop (in english cutterhead) is used by dredgers to dredge in harder ground

it is mostly used by this type if dredgers (see picture below) called a cutter dredger, the cutterhead is rotating so it can cut in harder ground than a Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger, the head has big steel pins on the end.

on sunday the 2nd of Septembre the Flipper 9 (ex-SCH-333 Oceaan VII) has left the port for the last time with destination Las palmas I am very sad because I have missed her depart so I only have pictures from the webcam.

@michael_taal, I hope you can come, the Wereldhavendagen has a lot of things to do, offer and there's lots to see!  :)

@Rbsanford, that 'snijkop' is used for dredging, to loosen sturdy materials on the bottom and sucking them up meanwhile.

Another great addition to your videos!

I just came back from a schooltrip to a theater play today and I noticed the Queen Mary 2 was docked in Rotterdam! During the play I could hear the mighty sound of her misthorn through the walls.  :P

I spotted an interesting ship that we all would recognize. I did not take the picture attached, got it from google. I am in the US Coast Guard and work at VTS Houston/Galveston. I have seen all sorts of vessels including the real Jumbo Javelin (and a third Jumbo Shipping vessel, can't remember the name) A few weeks ago I spoke to the Fairmount Sherpa's sister ships, the Fairmount Alpine and Summit! I never can manage a picture though!
