I'm lucky to live in Stavanger, a very busy cruise port. Yesterday we had four big ones: Azura, Costa Luminosa, Grand Mistral and Rotterdam with a total of 10,000 tourists :o

A few days ago Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria was docked next to each other. I guess they don't meet often outside Southampton. The arrival of cruise ships exploded after Stavanger was awarded second best cruise destination in the world.

The cruise docking area is covered by a live webcam, and below on that page a list of all arrivals this season. Much appreciated by us spotters :)

You're welcome. I love this live camera because it's very close to all the action. Only problem if you want to watch the cruise ships dock, you'll have to be up at 8am ;D

If you know about live webcams from ports, post them here.

Grand Princess, to the left, is she a sister ship of the Azura? They look identical.

I was in town today trying to take some pictures of the five cruise ships moored, but there are so many people around because of the tourists and a food festival going on I had to withdraw

Go here and click on the triangle to watch the live video.

Both are made from the Grand Class line of ships. The only thing that differs is that they belong to a different company.  ;)

I see, my guess it couldn't be a P&O ship since theres no yellow funnel. But the Adonia is here, a smaller one. Must be P&O's baby ;D

Hm, it seems a new Norwegian Cruise Line monster will visit Rotterdam next year...  :P

ROLL-CALL: NORWEGIAN BREAKAWAY, April 28, 2013 - 1-Nighter from Rotterdam to So'ton

Currently being build in the Meyer Werft in Germany. When one of these ships in the current webcams will be finished it will probably be switched to the Norwegian Breakaway.

Oh no, more cruise ships

Norwegian owners sold NCL to an Asian company many years ago. For some reason the new owners didn't change the company name or ship names. So, in case you didn't know, it has nothing to do with Norway anymore.

Only 50% ownership has been sold to that Asian company called Star Cruises.  ;)

This is only partially correct. Star Cruises acquired 100% of NCL, but later sold 50% to an American investment group called Apollo Management, based in Miami. There are still some Norwegian captains and other officers working for NCL, but no ownership.

Wilhelmsen Shipping owns 25% of RCCL, that's what is left when it comes to Norwegian cruise business.

Viking Lines newest cruiseferry, M/S Viking Grace will be launched in two hours.
Live webstream from the event was found from this address. (http://www.vikinggrace.com/)

Edit : LiveStream has ended. But the water keeps streaming for next 10 hours.

Some fresh pictures from Geiranger taken yesterday.

Costa Atlantica and coastal steamer Nordlys

Costa Atlantica is too much closer to coast... Did Schettino was at the helm?

Europa leaving Geiranger

Ferry going to Hellesylt from Geiranger

Europa and ferry, they look small now hehe

Today it was a smoldering hot day, but anyways, nothing can stop me from going to the Wereldhavendagen 2012 (World Port Days 2012).
Here are the pictures.  :)

Nice pic VS! ;D :2thumbs:

Interesting bow shape of the Hanse Spirit, looks like the nose of a 747.

Also what's that blue and yellow device that says "Snijkop" on the sign?
