ok finaly after a long time some updates,
i have done some other changes to the cabin, it is smaller, but it is now much more like a cabin instead of a huge living room.
i made some real quick renders using vray showing the bedroom:

most objects have quick textures applied on them, so it will be changed somewhere this week.

I just what to ask what color will the hull be?
Personally I think white hulls are ugly so I hope this great ships gets a black hull. But thats just me. It's your ship, do what you want.  :)

thanks a lot all!
yesterday i have bought SSE, i am going to enter the key when i get back from school.
the hull will be black and red, and the superstructure will be white  ;)

another small update of the room:

entrance of the cabin added, at left you can see a keylocker with a umbrella bin (or how it's suposed to be called) at right you can see cabinets with coathooks and a shoerail at the floor. also small spotlights have been added inside the cabin.

only thing left:
.bathroom
.baked textures

looks great, but to be hones I think you could change the floor to something a bit more new looking style, looks like the floor from our house from 1875. Besides that it really looks great.

yes indeed, the floor wil be changed.
new update:

wide shower booth with soap baskets and feet panel where you could even sit on.
sink and toilet with paper.
i just realized i forgot the towel rack.

as far as the modelling concerns in the cabin, it's done.

the bridge is still the same as i left it a while ago, it will be one of the next things to be modelled after this cabin.
update:

the floor now has a baked texture, the entrance corridor has been changed to tiles.

well, since this vessel is being made for the SSE CCContest, i am stuck with the deadline of january 10th 2011  ;)
that's the date this ship will be finished.
i have also made a new design for the funnel, it's still a concept. so any other idea's are welcome.

the idea about the platform sticking out is to direct the wind upwards pusing the exhaust fumes up aswell:

finaly! the interior has been textured. because of the CCC guidelines i had to crop the texture which took some time. and now i have 1 model and 1 texture:

the cabin interior only takes up half of the texture now:

still enough room left for the rest of the ship  ;)

I think the blue prints make for a nice touch! ;D

Is it permittable to use the image of Oasis of the Seas, though?

True,

But is the image you use in your model owned by you/made by you, or do you have permission to use it?

Cause if someone else took it, they have copyright. And you can't just get something off the net and use it, cause that would violate it.

Every part of your model should be owned/made by you, or you should have permission to use it for the purpose of this contest, under Vstep's conditions and terms.

Cause it's not just going to be displayed somewhere, it's potentially going into a commercial product. That's different than using it on a website somewhere for just the viewing pleasure of non-paying visitors.

i did not asked for any permission as i remember that the page itself could not be found.
it's not a big image though, most likely from a cruise-booking website i think.

but if it causes copyright issues i can easly change it for a picture of the SS rotterdam i took myself  ;)
