Hey all,

i think it would be really cool to have Brittany Ferries 'Normandie Express' sea cat and/or Hovertravel's 'Solent Express' Hovercraft.

Cheers and bye

I'd be satisfied to see a normal sized Cruise Ship or a Jumbo sized Cruise Liner.

she is a huge fast baby 186mts long, 26000 gross ton, 22000hp and 22.5 kts top speed.
i dont really know when... we have to ask permission to Baja Ferries Co. to use the name, ship and logos. it is based on a real ship (Stena Forwarder(2001) - California Star). used to be registered in Bari Italy, but Baja ferries bought her and is mexican now, Runs every day between La Paz and Topolobampo in the gulf of California. AFTER the permission (approved of course), start to prepare her for SS08. and is a long way home. But the team liked her.. so hopefully she will be playable, 8)

Dockwise Yacht Transport (DYT), the world's only float-on/float-off yacht transport service, has launched its newest ship, which will provide yacht owners with faster and more frequent delivery of their luxury power and sailing yachts across the Atlantic Ocean. The 685.7-foot (209 meters) Yacht Express, built at the Yantai Raffles Shipyard in China, has an official delivery date of May, 2007. It will be the largest vessel of its kind in the world, purpose-built with a semi-submersible dock bay that allows yachts of any size to be safely floated on and off as cargo. Yacht Express will join four other dedicated yacht carriers, all semi-submersible, in the existing liner service of DYT.

This looks like huge fun to me. I'd love to see this one.

But: Would it be possible to have it actually transport (ai/player) ships in shipsim? I guess the collision detection algo would (literally) go ballistic, wouldn't it?

Thumbs up for this model!

Peteryurk didn't build that ship!

It is a picture from the model from Dockwise itself.

Do you know how to add ships into shipsim?

You can't add your own ships to the game.

the 3D pictures i posted are my own creations. And no, you cant add your ships to SS, only the team know how to add them, you just can provide the model, and they have to do the rest.

High sea towing ships would be great addons, beside the fact they are often nice and manouverable ships, they give lots of possibilities in terms of possible missions inside Ship Sim.

I have in mind the new Abeille Bourbon, which operates in France, in the North Sea, one of the busiest and most dangerous sea ways :

80m long, 16,5m wide, 6m draft
fully loaded highest speed (wind 2bft) : 19,9 knots
fully loaded highest speed (facing wind 7bft and heavy sea) : 16,5 knots

4 main engines of 4000 kw each (total 16.000 kw / 21.000 HP)
bow thrusters : 2 x 883 kW
aft thruster  : 2 x 515 kW

towing capacities : two winches (200 tons pulling ability each)

And so on ... That's a really beautiful ship !
