That's almost something you need with high speed vessels. They are fitted with a relative small rudder surface, to make the vessel more course stable on higher speeds, otherwise it would look like a drunk skipper that's driving the boat  :P. The downside of a small rudder surface is that it's pretty hard to maneuver, you need alot of pressure on the rudder thus more trottle on the main engines.

That'll be my wake

Survey completed ok - we had a little test run 0 to 27 kts in about 5 seconds! Victualling and preparations to commence next weekend and hopefully we can get her in to Hull marina for the end of the month. Can't wait!  ;D

Hey Guys,
Some sad news, sold our boat...such a shame that it comes down that the fuel prices just prevent you from doing anything in the end.

Ahh, you should have putted some sails on it if the fuel prices were going up anyway.  :P

Hi maalle heitetty, A nice Nimbus. The build very nice stable boats. We even visited a Windy, who are also very beautiful and stable. We had until two years a Sunseeker 47 very nice and fast but not so much teak parts. Now is no time for it. Let's see what comes next, maybe a boat from Finland.

Regards

Well we've had her over a year now, Dayskipper practical completed early this year. We've had two runs to Scarborough (East coast UK) from Hull, our longer trip to Lowestoft and Ijmuiden had to be aborted due to illness and a poorly engine.

She goes well, though at full throttle she uses 97 litres per hour... per engine!  :o We've just filled the tanks yesterday having done 207nm since last fill, mostly at slower speed but still needed 1000+ litres @£1.15/litre.

Photo shows her at Scarborough at Easter - the passage was to be Hartlepool but dense fog curtailed the trip.
