I noticed that it havn't been posted for a while here, so I'm sorry to the moderators/administrators if it wasn't ment to be "re-opend"..

But I've got great news! (Mainly for myself though ;D

Today we bought a new boat! Not a big fancy yacht, but a nice Yamarin 50 SCS with Yamaha's four stroke 60 HP. Goes about 30-35 knots :) And now that i have turned 16 and have the boat certificate (it's requierd here in Norway) I'm allowed to drive it aswell, these kinds of boats have been my favorite all along and today the dream got real! :)

Once again, sorry for ripping off in an old topic but I just had to share it ;D

LOL one of the boats we went to view had bow and stern thrusters - on a remote control as well!! So if the boat got away from you on the pontoon you could bring it back alongside without being on it!

That's almost something you need with high speed vessels. They are fitted with a relative small rudder surface, to make the vessel more course stable on higher speeds, otherwise it would look like a drunk skipper that's driving the boat  :P. The downside of a small rudder surface is that it's pretty hard to maneuver, you need alot of pressure on the rudder thus more trottle on the main engines.
