Thanks the black boat is owned by a family friend.
even though it only has a 10hp engine it actually sails quite fast, not sure how fast though.

yes it was named after me, because of all the effort I put in it. basically rebuilt everything beside the hull, even parts of the hull are replaced.

Wow thats cool 10hp just seemed a bit low (we have a blower that has 5hp lol) But hey if it works it does I know someone with a Zodiak inflatable with I think a 40 Hp on it and that is overkill

hehe thanks, the good things with those old boats is they never get finished, you'll always find something else to do with it. We're probably gonna take the fast boat up next week, so then I'll get so more pics hopefully.

This one has 15 HP on the shaft, i`m not sure if it's the orginal engine or if they replaced it because of the lower fuel consumption. This one is in excellent condition, it's for sale for â‚¬21.000..

For me she doenst have to be in this condition, as long as the hull and engine are in good condition. Welding and working with steel is a subject at nautical college, and having a engineer as father is also a big plus

to bugsier 2 have azimuth thrusters witch makes them good for close standby
work retrieving rescue craft survivor rescue by dacon scoop

I know a story of the Sabb engine:

A fisherman had a sabb once, his boat went down some day, but as the boat kept going deeper and deeper for the bottom, the fisherman could still here the Sabb engines stroke as it kept going to the bottom

It would be nice if that was a true story. But the first intake of air into the piston would be water, and the engine would stop dead immediately. Two reasons:

(1) You can't get diesel or petrol to ignite when it is mixed with water.

(2) Both sides of the piston would be surrounded by water. At least one of the pistons would be in the compression part of the cycle. You can't compress water. So it jams immediately.

Nice bit of old wive's tale for Saab, though.
