My last one (the one in the "2 hours on the Solent" videos on YouTube) would do about 60 Kts (65+ mph), but it was starting to snake at that point. At that speed, even small waves would cause it to leap from crest to crest, bone-jarringly!

The current boat (a 36 foot Sunseeker Gin Palace job) does a more sedate 45 Kts (50+ mph). It weighs several tons and does not leap the waves. It slides through them quite happily, so the drinks don't get spilled.

Been out in it in some fairly horrifying weather, rescuing some people off the Mixon rocks near Selsey. It was not a bad ride, even with 10-15ft waves around us. Didn't spill a drop!

How o you find the time to sail it, between dashing over all continents on the planet, designing ss pro and moderating the forum. I take my hat off to you, I really do. I wish I could manage to find time myself...

Suddenly motor boats are starting to look more appealing than pratting about with wind and sails...

looks very nice, but also looks much smaller than 32 feet, but that's just because of the type of the boat.

True enough... But can it cross hundreds of miles of sea on a tank of fuel? no... Well my boat can. I MUST admit though, as much as sails have their fun, a good diesel engine is nice for leaving port... I tried to leave the first time under sail and nearly smacked an expensive yacht.

I really must take sailing lessons.

they're not that difficult to drive, suprisingly! of course you can get bigger versions of those but I like this one because it weighs the least, is the smallest and therefore the fastest

I went on one of them went the same speed, I was driving  in a shipping channel, not the wisest idea, but It was fun, It was a Zodiac with a 40hp Honda Outboard and hey stu our old boat may not be able to cross the ocean, but this can, Well I think

It has a 1500 Gallon Tank, But youd need to stop somewhere :P At a small island or something lol

At 8 knots it uses 1 nautical Mile a gallon

At 28 knots it uses 90 GPH

Has 2 Caterpiller C-18's @ 1015 hp Each

Now theres a diesel engine for ya stu

With the fuel consumption of that vessel, you would be well to put carx in the hull and call it a ferry!
