Not sure what they did but New Horizons runs on my PC soooooo much smoother than SS08 did by itself, can actually do full graphics now. Anyone else with Vista notice this? Just wondering if they fixed a bunch of stuff or if it was something I had done just before it came out.

Yes, it's a lot better. I still can't quite run at full graphics in multiplayer, but that's because my current GPU is inadequate. Great update, and I love all the new ships.

This is an addon with new content not a bug fix patch.

Why do people expect things like this for free? 8 New Ships and an enviroment is almost like doubling the size of the game, you can't have it for free!

i'm downloading the game but the download speed don't get higher as 10 KB/sec.
knows someone how I can fix this??

This should be for free we paid good money for SS08, i bought a brand new High end Gaming PC for it and it never would go online, i feel like i got ripped off because it was a buggy unfinished beta when i bought it in the beginning and now when they got things running they want more money from me.

Don't be daft. This is not a bug fix, it's a completely new set of stuff. That's like saying "I want Vista for Free, because I bought XP and it doesn't have all the stuff I think it should do". Why should you get that for free? That's just being ridiculous.

In any case, the original was nothing like a beta. I have V1.0 and it works fine. They have released various upgrades for free. I've installed those and each time they have given me more and more free stuff. I think that's extremely goof of Vstep.

And there are more free updates coming shortly.

If you can't get your PC to go on-line that's a problem with your PC, I expect.

Good luck. This game is a beaut at max settings. When I was working with the devs on bringing 2008 online I had to upgrade my gaming rig. We do so much for good gaming . . . Err, simming.

Hope you have a really good experience. I have to say mine works wonderfully. Good graphics, excellent sound (hooked intoa really powerful set of Amps) and lots of fun.

Its recording studio equipment, not your average home hi-fi system. I've had it for many years. All linked to 32 track digitial and midi recording system.

thanks gents!

just played some missions with all graphics on and i was amazed! wow, a new quality of shipsim, no stuttering, fast loading, beautiful! i enjoyed the wakes of other ships , the 20km emviroment, reflections, yeah!

i must say that a basic equipment for enjoying this sim is a powerful computer!

Has to be your connection cause with Cable it's lightening fast on the download.

Hallo,

I have bought the New Horizons and now I can't play SS08, because for the first my version is now in english language, a german patch will be available soon.
Many missions are closed, because the game says, that are the ships in my version are not available. Whats wrong.
I have installed SS08 and the i have put the license key in. Then I have installaed the patches 1.1 and 1.1 to 1.3. After that I have installed the New Horizon. The installer says to me, now my version will be an englisg language version, because the german language pack will be come soon. Ok, I think, my english is ok to play the game in english. But now I can't play many missions. ?Please, can anyone help me ?
