It appears to be a Firefox problem. I've bought it again in IE7, and it works fine (downloading now). I'll get my money back on the other one tomorrow, my excitement got the better of me. :)

That's odd, I use firefox all the time and I've never had any problems like that. I purchased the download version of SS08 and had no problems at all ;D

Guys, could anyone help me with the procedure for buying it from the website? I've just now purchased it, but have not received any email, or been given a link to download it. Any guidance would be very helpful (and make me relax :)).

Same problem here,, got the confirmation e-mail saying that it's paid for but no download mail and it's not showing up on the my orders page either???  and I used firefox to get the game to begin with,, plus my getting the confirmation mail says they got the cash

Just a quick review of what I've done so far...

I love it! The Bugsier is amazing, but I need to find a controller for it. Using the keyboard to control it is just awful, and my spare 360 controller has suffered from too-much Halo abuse over the years! Is there anyway to assign each Schottel Unit to an Analogue stick on a joypad (kind of how a real one works)? I've tried everything, and all problems with the pad being worn-in aside, I can't find a way to do it.

Yeah, I did that..

Analog Stick one:  up/down = engine 1 forward/reverse
                         left/right = rudder 1 left/right

Analog Stick two: up/down = engine 2 forward/reverse
                         left/right = rudder 2 left/right

The rest I set up like this:
(playstation type controller)

Analog Stick press 1:  reset engine one
Analog Stick press 2:  reset engine two
POV switch up/down: engine 1+2 fore/aft
POV switch left/right: rudder 1+2 left/right
L1+R1: thruster 1 left and right
L2+R2: thruster 2 left and right
X, O, square, triangle:  left and right button = reset rudder 1 and 2.  top and bottom button = reset thruster 1 and 2
Select = horn

This gives me all the controls needed to steer all vessels.. and the HUD then still has to be done with the KB of course.
Oh and I use precision steering then of course.

Regards,
Fred

Hello to the lucky ones who have downloaded NH,

Hope your having fun with it, mine should be here in a couple of days but I have a question for you.

Can someone tell me if you can control, lets say, the bugsier from the aft control station using your joysticks/gamepad or is that still not possible because you are in walkthrough mode which disables your controllers? please

cheers

What brand of joystick/game controller do you use?

I still prefer the use of my keyboard with precision steering and as you can see at my videos, it works fine that way. To be honest, I don't have any joystick until now, maybe it could be more fun with them  ;)

Btw: the "Bugsier 2" has no Schottel-Rudder-Propeller, but two very similar Rolls-Royce Aquamaster Thrusters.

Cheers

Probably the problem is at your end of things. I received the two emails within moments. Several other people I know have reported the same thing.

So, unless the system really dislikes you, I suspect the email is either locked in a spam trap or your ISP has managed to lose it for you. That happens more often that you might think.
