On a point here, although it was referred to as RMS- I'm sure their official designation on the lloyds list was still SS and that RMS, whilst most often used, carried no legal status.

Does anyone know about this?

She was sister ship to Lusitania. There was another ship of 1938 by the same name  ;D

Oh, and she is mentioned at the beginning of the Titanic film when they are boarding the Titanic
