ShipSim Trivial Pursuit
« on: January 09, 2008, 20:13:13 »

Ok, let's have a game of Trivial Pursuit, ShipSim style.. :)

Rules: - questions relate to ShipSimulator, but other maritime questions are also allowed..
         - an unanswered question may later be repeated (once)
         - the 2 hour-rule applies when:
no correct answer is given to the question
            no new question is posted
In this case, after 2 hours, anyone can post the next question..

(Tip: have a question ready, just in case you get the answer right.. ;)

First question: where is this ? Name city and harbour...

I think it is the Waalhaven in the Port of Rotterdam.

An easy one, What do the initials "RPA" stand for, on the RPA 12 "incident response vessel"?

Okay!

What is the maximum number of containers that can be loaded upon the Vermaas with the crane?
(This means, how many can we use in custom missions, not the 4 that are in the standard mission)

Nope, I'm afraid that is incorrect.

I count 17, Fred, but it’s hard to see those magenta boxes. Tavares loads 14 in his mission.

Bingo Marty!

I read somewhere in one of your posts that it were 16.. but when I tried it ingame it was 17 indeed.
Although when you click all those magenta boxes, it actually displayes 18 of them ingame. And one at the back of the bunch cannot be lifted. (or that was just a bug, I only tried it once)

Anyway, You're up!  ;D

Difficult question, Hoek van Holland is not so small, and Maeslantkering is also big. Can we take the milestone 1026 near the Maeslantkering and the milestone 1030 near to the Berghaven as references?
Sorry, I don't know if the word "milestone" is quite adapted.

That is, I believe, the shortest distance from the "door" of the right bank to the entrance of the town?

Wout, you are close enough for government work. The actual points are so ambiguous compared to the short distance that anything in that range could be right.
Luc gets honorable mention for just knowing where, or even what, the barrier was. :)

See the picture to find out how I measured that distance ;)

Next question: How many moderators does this forum technically have at this very moment?

I don't mean online, but how many members are technically a moderator? If you search hard enough, you can find the answer

15 moderators is correct, however we have only 2 admins. Still, you answered the moderator question correctly (and faster than I expected)!
