No we are actually both right.. you failed to specify what answer you were looking for..

She sunk in the normal manner.. she was on the surface first, and under it later..

And indeed because of the iceberg she hit in the North Atlantic.

I know what you mean, but I do not feel the need to seriously get into that titanic sinking fascination myself.

Oh btw.. even though the movie showed it somewhat correctly, Hollywood is not really a trustworthy source for Historical facts, to be honest.

Yes she did.. of course she did, everyone knows that videogames show the truth about History!
They got it totally wrong in the movie. And all those eyewitness accounts were wrong too, those people were just halucinating from the hypothermia.

Because I knew the answer.. and you can't argue with it being A right answer to your question.

But it's just silly to always focus on that sinking stuff. So she went down bow first.. big deal. She went down. That's all there is to it. I'm sorry if I sounded harsh, I didnt mean to be harsh at all, but I just don't like the way it always has to come back to sinking and how it's not done correctly in the game and such.

You can appreciate that, I hope.. this is Ship sim, not sink sim. We're supposed to sail them.. preserve them.

And if you ask a question that you really intend to be a comparison between the reality and the game, then it actually applies to neither, as you cannot compare them. That's what I mean to say.

ok. this is something close to what i was looking for. Titanic went down bow first because water was entering there fast. the bulkheads did not go higher than E deck, so water spilled back and back, causing the stern to rise. and the presure was to much for the hull, causing her to split.

she split at the expansion joints at an angle of 10 or 11 degrees, according to the new theory (as opposed to the previous one which suggested 30), an angle most ships face in storms. this sugests her expansion joints were weak. sure enough, the wrecks show that the Britannic's expansion joints were stronger than Titanic's, meaning White Star knew of this structural deficiency. Anyway, the crack stoped at the double bottom, which still hadn't flooded. eventually, though, just like the rest of the ship, it failed and flooded, pulling the ship's middle down, causing upper decks to mangle and crush together before completely seperating.
