Well, suppose Ill tell you.

I wanted to make someone say a Cruise Ship. But, its a Hospital Atrium in Worcestor Massachusetts, Saint Vincet's to be exact. Yes, thats a hospital. If you were standing there, and being able to look around, youd think you were in a cruise ship, theres a waterful a little out of the picture, and another set of those elevators.

AHA! lol, thanks for the warning for a new post, I know see saltydog did what I wanted ^_^

I googled it and the answer was on the 2nd page that google showed. It was the website of Fairmount;

Yes, it's the "crows nest"..

Sailing ships would sometimes take a few crows with them, which they kept up there..
When they thought they were near land, but could not see it because of heavy fog, they would release one of the crows. The bird would fly directly to the nearest land, showing them the direction.
 (hence the expression "as the crow flies".. )
Of course it was mainly used as a lookout point..
