Update 1.4 problems
« on: August 25, 2011, 15:32:28 »

While some things are changed for the better, (needs no attention here ) faults must be marked !

- BOUNCING docks are STILL killing when touched in the environments, as they are not assigned berths !

- By changing the draught and/or the depth you've made it impossible for us to go, where we could go before !
sofar Calais, Marseille in the canal, Rotterdam beond Botlek and Dover berth's
are not available anymore for Ocean Prince.

- POR's Ramp is Not controled anymore / Controlers are gone !

- Jumbo Javelin is sailing faster with 32 % RPM, then with 52 % RPM of thrust.

- Albatross IV and Jumbo Javelins / reset rudder 1 key is STILL not functional !

- Vermaas / Position of the Captain is STILL not changed to the controle and instruments position (chairs) !

  Multiplayer:

- TOWING is NOT posible in private made servers / the lines will not connect !

- Bow-visor and ramp of Albatross IV seen to be open, while they are closed or never been opened before !

- STILL leaving ghost ships behind in the environment, when members leaving or changing vessels !

- STILL watching other ships sinking or on the side, while their Captains find nothing's wrong / everything is OK !?

- STILL new environment entries will be named/taged after long gone members / false info in the map!

. . . and Testing  ::)

POR's Ramp is Not controled anymore / Controlers are gone !

Thanks for the report. We will take a look at it.

Update:
The PoR seems to have lost it's controls. We already fixed the problem but can not disrupt the update process to v1.4 now. We'll have to wait until tomorrow to come up with a good solution to get those controls back on your screen.

I only see the incremental Update v1.3.5 to v1.4, but not the full update to the 1.4 version. Will the full update also be released, so that we can do a clean install of SSE version 1.0 and the full update of SSE to version 1.4?

Earlier updates did always contain the full updates.

You can use the full install to 1.3.5. After that you can use the incremental to 1.4. We have noticed that most users always use the full update instead of the incremental. This burns a lot of bandwidth, we hope to reduce it this way.

i noticed for a short time that when i put the time settings on somewhere in the morning or late afternoon, that the sky looked like it was on mars or something, it was bright green and red.

also it seems that the deployable of the P6 doesn't bother any collissions, i can sail through everything with it.

What i miss is the moving buckets e.g on de Pilot vessel,Redjes 4 Arie visser, on the ships that have a waterjet, if that will be applay to the vessels whit waterjets is also bether manoeuverble. in the beginning it was there for sure after the updates that we have had it is gone :(.

Doing a clean install of SSE and after that doing a full update will reduce the chances of bugs.

No need to post it on so many places. I answered your other post. This is not normal indeed.

Been reported!

Ahoy Angus,
That is correct, except for the indicator. This one dosn't show always the correct position of the ramp. Sometimes when I click the green button the indicator jumps to the closed position instead of climbing gradually to that position, according to the actual speed of the ramp.

In the Agile Solution the dock's are a bit bouncy, they don't shoot you as far but they do still shoot you away

Correct installation of updates and addons:

What is better:

1: Clean install, applying the 1.3.5 update, ferry addon and finally applying the 1.4 update?
2: Clean install, applying the 1.3.5 and the 1.4 update and finally the ferry addon?

The steering position for Cartagena is still the same. The update seems to be great so far, the main problem with bouncing quays seems to be gone and that is the best with this update(I think). But it seems that we need another update, which will fix the rest. But hopefully can Vstep build it in the "Birthday gift"?

It seems that vessels which are sailing 17 knots (albatros) are faster then the Pride of Rotterdam at 22 knots...

The harbour in Padstow shows me in the sea chart 0 meters water depth...actually my instrument shows me 5 meters.

In Calais there was a barrier at the entrance..my Pride of Rotterdam ran aground

cheers again

Hi Aad,
You are quite right about the ramp indicator. In order to be sure the ramp is fully raised you must hold the button down until well after the indicator says it is housed. This is known by the developers but I think they put it low on the list of priorites.

Angus.

I like to sail in the Bugsier.. When playing in MP I sometimes use rear view on the bridge, for pushing etc..
Frequently then I switch between outside view and helm view..But everytime I get back at the helm I am facing forward, so I have to turn around again each time..  This was not so in SS08NH..

And still are the waterlevels so wrong u got stuck everywhere in Rotterdam. Can that not be changed? U guys must know how many big ships ( 300m+/- ) heading for Rotterdam City Terminals in Waalhaven and Eemhaven. Why we cant reacht it? Little bid unreal i think.

Next question: The chatbox in Multiplayer. It look so cheap. Why u dont put the same chatbox as in SS 2008. With the player names/flag/ships/speed/location in it again? Looks more profesional then what we know have.

For the rest the game runs better then before.
