Onboard the SCH-118 Johanna Maria

view from the bridge, one of the few  parts that has been saved by the fire

another view from the bridge, but now on the aft deck

the chart table

there used to be screens here

going downstairs to the cabins and messroom

this was the messroom (there was more space to the left, but I wasnt allowed to go further inside the room)

The corridor to the front deck

almost nothing left

stairway to the deck where the fire started

Had more pictures but they all are failed due to the darkness (even the flash didn´t help)

What is happing to the ship? is she getting scrapped?

That is still unknown, tha last 2 months they investigated the upperstructure (and demolished it)
monday the 1st of September she was towed to Vlissingen (drydock) for further inspections below the waterline and hull, it can take weeks or months before this investigation is done.

Untill then there can be said anything about the ship, hopefully she can be saved, because Scheveningen has not many trawlers left in their fleet.

Afraid not the Ferry Terminal was to far away to get a decent picture of it. We were coached from the terminal to the ship at both ports. The ship was DFDS Cote Dalbatre , i took this one of her in 2010 in Portsmouth.

Really can’t figure out what that is, but it’s certainly not a generator.

It may be a condenser for a steam turbine, but that is a total guess.

Dredging operations in the harbor performed by the TSHD Albatros (1612 M3), I hope that upcoming school year goes fast, so that I can run internship on a dredger  ;D

photos were taken 20-09-2014

A nice full harbor and one of the biggest reefers that have docked in Scheveningen in history, normally they are around the 100 and 115m this one is 135m and I must say that this is also one of the nicest so far.
She is built in 1990 for Seatrade (Dutch company specialised in reefers) and she was named Music (there were more reefers that ended with IC like the Mystic,Magnific,Maveric,Magic) a few years ago she was sold to Green Reefers and renamed Green Music.

and today
I like the bow from the Green Music a lot, the bow looks like at a frigate, a very slim bow made for speed (max speed 15kts)

The Sandettie and Bremen Fighter

Bremen Fighter

L-303 Ariadne

TSHD Albatros and Green Music (due to religion the Albatros and all the other vessels from company De Boer never dredge or sail on Sundays, the same is for other smaller dredge companys)

The difference in length is quite big as the 2 vessels are docked next to each other (Albatros 75m and Green Music 135m)

A nice full harbor

So and my next post will be in 2 days from Oasis of the Seas, cant wait  :2thumbs:

Well the Oasis is delayed, so I took my bike and cycled around the harbor.

The Westsund came in yesterday evening with an unknown malfunction

No dredging operations for today, the reason shows up in the next set of photos.

Yep, I think that is clear why there are no dredging operations today   ;)

The Kitty Roosmale Nepvue going outside with some contributors

Had to laugh at the guide pin and shark jaw caps on the tug being painted red and green, just incase the operators forget which is port and starboard.
