Nice pictures, love the Boskalis dredgers.

The reason why a lot of my pictures are gone is that my storage was almost full (maybe I will re-upload them if you want)

Yes danny i did see Aurora and Silver Explorer were here on sunday no photos though. We have around one hundred cruise ships visits this year in Guernsey record year for us. But that all depends on the weather as we have no cruise ship berth its all tenders ashore.

on saturday the 14th of June it was "Vlaggetjesdag" again, every year we celebrate that the new herring (Hollandse nieuwe in dutch) is arrived.
This year I was invited the one of the fishing trawlers from Jaczon, I sure wanted to go on so I did, the  vessel I sailed with is the OD-1 Maarten Jacob.

Yesterday Scheveningen was shocked by the very big fire onboard the SCH-118 Johanna Maria (2 people were injured).

The fire started at round 9 in the morning and 12 hours later (9 in the afternoon) the sign fire master was given (although the ships cought fire again 20 minutes later and this afternoon she cought fire again, these 2 fires were quickly extinguished).

around 6 in the midday the Ievoli Amaranth (Coastguard tug) arrived at the coast of Scheveningen to tow the Johanna Maria out of the harbor if the fire was not extinguished by 9 in the afternoon, this desision would be made due to the trouble (smoke) and smell (burning plastic) but at 9 the fire was under control and the trawler stayed in the harbor.

The RPA15 had to stop fire fighting for a moment because the fire department was cutting holes in the vessel to let the water escape.

Not everyday you have a huge fire.
I got a question to ask. Where I live there has been these boats in the harbour for the last few weeks and nobody I know understand what they are doing there or what are they - okay we get one is a Crain boat but why here and why so long? It's also KML from Sically but what is it for.?

It was intresting how they are fighing against the fire, luckily we dont have this fires much (althought it is the 3rd very big fire in Scheveningen in 1 month), sadly it is the 3rd big trawler fire in 10 years (all had Scheveningen as homeport), it is the 2nd vessel for this company that is on fire while they were renovating her.
Scheveningen has had a lot of luck there was still 600 tonnes of oil in the vessel.

Later today more pictures but now from very close (the smell around the vessel is still horrible).

I've been doing quite a bit of photography recently downtown, and yesterday and a couple weeks ago I caught some out-of-the-ordinary moored vessels.

The Lake Guardian, moored outside the DECC (Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center).

A closer shot of Lake Guardian.

As you can see, she is owned by the EPA.

The aft deck.

Port of registry is Bay City, MI.

Yesterday things were shaken up a bit. Here the M/Y Three Sons is moored in the abandoned Portlend Cement terminal along with the decommissioned USCG buoy tender Sundew. I took this from the top floor of the 14-story Medical Arts Building.

As close as I dared get to Three Sons. Technically I was a "criminal trespasser", according to a sign by the remains of a guard post.

A somewhat safer shot of Three Sons and Sundew. The cement elevator will be repainted and refurbished, and the surrounding area will be razed to make way for a three-story hotel and a plaza. This slip will be the new home of the William A. Irvin museum ship, and the other will be a marina designed for large luxury craft, such as Three Sons.

If you can do it, I should come really nice pictures and most of the time it is very busy.

P.S. September 30th and October 14th of 2014 the Oasis of the Seas will come to Rotterdam from cruises and drydocking.

Here are some pictures from my second to last day of Work Experience, the Civil Engineers made me a Restricted Area pass and took me and showed me where Sirena Seaways hit the port and demolished one of the berths and its front.

Back in 2013 when it crashed

Tomorrow is my last day of Work Experience with the port and I have enjoyed all of it :)

Looks like a Forrest Sherman class DD. Without the hull number it could be any of them. The design was late 1940s and the builds were in the 50s. Some of the hulls were used for the first DLGs.
