The day began not good for this surfer

The Ambulance was alarmed to check the surfer, luckily for him there was no reason to transport him to the hospital.

The beach truck from the KNRM

The dredgers were not able to work at Katwijk due to the winds.

let's go to the best part of today, a visit on the Bremen Fighter.

This vessel is 24/7 standby in Scheveningen for rescue operations or other work, currently they are working on the rig  Noble Linda Bossler a few miles out of the coast by Hook of Holland, they are waiting for better weather because the rig has to be positioned very carefully.

specifications:
length: 48,81M
width: 13,8M
flag: Antigua and Barbuda
build: 2005
former names: Primus (Harms Bergung)

The bridge with view to the aft deck

the bridge with view to the bow

The portside engine with 9 cylinders and 4039 BHP (a total of 8078 BHP)

control room of the M.K.

Galley

aft deck with bouys and 2 anchors from the rig Noble Linda Bossler

The bridge taken from the bow

winch

stores room

bridge from the aft deck

beautiful vessel (my opinion)

I most liked the last one! Do you have some sort of permission to get this close at the dock?

thankyou, it was meant to be sarcastic, I can´t remember that it was so busy in the harbor (even with Christmas last year is was not so busy, and that is just the period that all the trawlers go home).

The HNLMS Holland and HNLMS Zeven Provinciën (at the horizon).
The HNLMS Holland ais also  patrolling the coast between Scheveningen and Noordwijk, The HNLMS Friesland is anchored 24/2 at Noordwijk (Obama sleeps there), the HNLMS Zeven Provinciën can look around 400KM in the sky for planes (March 24th and 25th the sky around The Haque,Noordwijk and Amsterdam Schiphol Airport will be closed and guarded by AWAC's and F-16's 24/2).

The Holland back to work after some bunkers.

The P-42 Police vessel will guard the coast for vessels that are sailing within 1km of the shore, currently it is forbidden to sail within 1km of the shore, swim in the sea and kite flying at the beach.

The reason for this circus is the Nuclear Security summit where 53 leaders from different country's  will come to.
For the people that don't know what an AWAC is:

Hi all, a few images from me, taken last weekend (May 17th & 18th) in Southampton. We went down this weekend for a few things, but I managed to persuade the parents that this weekend was an especially good weekend to go as on the Saturday there would be six cruise ships in.

We arrived at Calshot around 14:30 to see the first two cruise ships leave, here's what greeted us by blasting away from the pier.

Then, after checking up on the Southampton VTS planned movements, the ships that were supposed to leave at 14:30 were changed to 16:30 and 18:30! So we went for a walk along the spit and I took my camera and snapped these along the way:

Causeway, a Suction Hopper dredger, was working just off the end of the spit for most of the day, on the exit of Southampton water, and left when the cruise ships began making their way down the channel.

After going to do the other stuff we planned, we returned at 16:30 to see off the cruise ships. First through was P&O's Oceana, one of two P&O ships that day. You could actually hear the sailaway party on board, which was funny. :D

Before the next cruise ship came through, another dredger, Shoreway, that had been working all day up by Fawley, departed:

Next, Independence of the Seas came through:

Then, I managed to be in the right place at the right time to get this one:

Next up, Black watch, one of two Fred Olsen ships in:

Then, there was an hours wait until the next cruise ships left their berths, these images were taken then:

Red Eagle, a ship simmer's favourite:

Not sure what this is - the guy we were sat with (who's VHS we were listening to) said that is was like a Norfolk sail vessel?

Then, my personal star of the show arrived! Aurora is my favourite cruise ship, she's just - perfect!

Side view, with the Harbour Master. the Harbour Master had just dropped a motorboat off at the pier, his engine failed mid-channel as Aurora approached!

One of my best ship images ever:

And just as the parents forced me back into the car to leave, I could just snap Balmoral as she approached: ;)

Unfortunatley, MSC Opera, the sixth vessel, was only just leaving her berth, and we had to get the the camp site so I wasn't able to see her, but oh well :)

Hope ya like them! ;D
