When I was working aboard Waverley back in the 1980s I saw the Burmah Endeavour (http://www.aukevisser.nl/supertankers/id25.htm) at Southampton she was , I believe, at that time and perhaps even now the largest ship in the world

Knock Nevis is the largest ship in the world at 458m, built in the early 70s I think, but Burmah Endeavour seems pretty huge too  :o

She was the world's 8th largest at the time, 2nd largest British vessel behind fleet mate Burmah Enterprise. Renamed Stena Queen, then Folk-1 - scrapped in 2003

Biggest Ive seen was the Oscar Wilde a car ferry, not that big really. I would actually pay money to see an aircraft carrier!

When I was driving to New York City this summer, I passed through this city in Rhode Island and I saw an amazingly large oil carrier of some sort. Of course, I never got a picture of it, the car was moving too fast and I didn't see her name. It was from like, half a mile away, but still, it counts hehe... :P
