What's the largest ship you've ever seen?
« on: July 04, 2009, 23:40:24 »

Just thought it would be interesting to see what the largest ship each of us have seen/travelled on is. (If you have pics you can post them too)  ;D

For me, either the Berge Stahl or the Shinoyo Splendor tanker.

Of course, when I see QM2 in Rotterdam on the 22nd, that will be my new largest ship  ;D

The only ship I ever see is the SS Belle of Louisville, which I seen from the Kennedy Bridge(I-65), going or coming from my cousins.

The largest for me...either the Ticonderoga, or the Spirit of Ethan Allen 3.

with me you could argeu 2 cases: the largest ship in terms of length that ive ever seen is the rms queen mary 2, but the largest gross tonnage ship that ive seen is Independence of the seas.

both of them were in southampton (i went for a 5 day holiday there back in May-i probably didnt mention it before)

ill try and find some pics later.

Obviously dry cargo wise I've seen the "Berge Stahl", larger still was the "Burmah Endeavour" when she was laid up in Southampton (at the time the 8th largest vessel in the world). Largest I've been on board was the "Doceriver" at just under 80,000grt (invited on board by the sparks who I met taking photos at Immingham). Largest sailed on is POR/POH.

The biggest ship I've ever seen is the Queen Mary 2 while I was on my New York City trip.  It's also the first time I've seen an ocean liner for real.

Largest ship I've ever seen would have to be the Norwegian Jade. I saw her docked in Dublin just as we drove off at around 5 O'clock in the morning
