how about you look at it from another angle, the green peace vessel is something the sim needs, I'm not very keen either on any of the organizations, but I like that they add the green peace vessel, because of what boat it is, not who owns it.

I absoulutly dispise both organisation and dont want to see eaither ship in SS10 but especially not Sea Sheaperds piracy is a hanging crime so why not hang Capt.Paul is his whole dang crew what they do is wrong

So you agree in the slaughter of 1000 whales in a Whaling sanctuary for "research" that is just a loophole in an IWC agreement so that they can sell whale meat?

Too late. Esperanza is already built in Ship Simulator 2010. So your wish for both not to be included is Denied. ( think I was brainwashed by Terry )

While I am not saying it will be included, how do YOU know it won't be included? I'm not saying I support the idea, (I don't actually) but how do you know for SURE? Are you some sort of VSTEP specialist? Are you there in the office everyday watching them do it? Also,

It is a anti-Friendly ship. It hunts WHALES for money. Northern Star is fishing for food products so it is okay, but the Sea Sheperd is bad. plus, Ship Simulator 2010 won't have whales for the Sea Sheperd to hunt

your right it is the boat not the oranization that operates it I mean they are nice boats the Steve Irwin would make a helluva nice tuna boat They got that retractible hanger I bet that would make half the captains I know happy

Im not one to pick a fight but i guess i did so ill defend my POV first im gonna guess your not a fisherman but I am and let me tell you how hard it is to make a living from the sea wheter lobstering whaling crabing longline fishing it is dangerous and the last thing these people need is a crazed lunatic attempting to ram them ask your self is a boat full of people (japanese) really worth a couple of whales ill awnser for you no its not because I know what happens out at sea and will highlight some of the risk sea sheaperd imposes  prop fouler should that get in the prop and the engine dies then the weather picks up you turn broadside to the wave Capt Paul just KILLED a whole ship full of people (raming risk is obvious ive said my peice and im sure youll say yours

Well this is kind of a coincidence, because Sea Shepherd made an article about the issues of safety a few days ago. And let me show you this bit of evidence.
Members of the Whaling Fleet that Sea Shepherd injured = 0
Members of Sea Shepherd that the Whaling Fleet injured = 5
Members of the Whaling Fleet that died whilst whaling = 3
Members of Sea Shepherd that died whilst saving the world = 0

Now tell me, which one is the more violent side?

And as for the whaling industry, it might of been good a few centuries ago, but we're in a world that whaling doesn't belong anymore. You're right when you say you can make a living out of the sea with lobsters, crabbing and long line fishing. But Whales are an endangered species, killing 1000 a year is barbaric. I admit that whaling built the markets of a lot of countries, it built the port of Hull which is very close to me to the standards it is now. But considering Japan's wonderful economy which is advanced greatly to the technological market, I don't see why they should need to whale at all, it's pathetic.

Back on topic: one ship looks like a vessel Darth Vader would command, and the other of course is Luke Skywalker's..
I think the Esperanza looks nicer than the Steve Irwin.. :)

So that means gay equals bad?

That disclaimer doesn't exaclty make it any less offensive, to be really honest.

Welcome to the forums.. but please.. leave the bigotry at the doorstep.  Cheers!

Well done saltydog glad to see someone knew the name of the sea shepherd's ship  :captain: The Steve Irwin looks more fitting to a war game painted all black like that. I wonder what his family must think if they ever watched whale wars. But the greenpeace ships are more colourful and more fitting for shipsim.

^ I agree.
I watched that show last night and they were trying to preform a prop fowl on another whaling vessel. Really for no good reasons other than their paranoia. It ended hilariously when they tried to two or three times and it didn't work and then the whaling vessel's crew pull the net out of the water...
Also, the crew is very inexperienced, they hire some of them right off of the dock and most of them have no maritime experience whatsoever. For example last night when I saw it (I was watching it to see what I could post here about it), the crew didn't listen closely to the captains order and did the wrong attack when the time came, and when the captain ordered them to come back in the RIB boat, because of a storm rising, the crew didn't listen and wanted to wave goodbye to the whaling ship as a joke, causing them to get out of visual contact with their mother ship, and they eventually lost communications. The whole organization is hard to take seriously.

Whats all the fuss about whales for anyway?

I went there last month and it rained all weekend. That said, there were a few spectacular mountains to look at.
