looks like the police boat :D

Indeed it does Jonah, and I have almost copied the superstructer because I have something to work on and learn at the same time. I intend to create a vessel from my imagination, or one that doesn't yet exist in the simulator :)

Hi guys,

Here's a couple of renderings. First one is a quick one and the second took a long time and is high quality.

Feedback is welcome!

Some imagination, not looking like a tug boat I've ever seen. Maybe good for scrap metal.

Wow thanks for your very negative input!!  :(

If you had read the topic from the start, you will have noticed that I started the hull again. Therefore it may not even try and be a tug which I agree it certainly isn't.

I find your attitude on the forums (not just here but elsewhere) very rude. If you've not got anything nice to say, then don't say it at all!!!

I'd like for you to understand how complex 3D modelling can be, and is very time consuming if you are learning at the same time.

Maybe next time you could actually use your brain before you post negative things!  ;)

I must say that I do not care much for your attitude, Punta.

Calling someone's hard work 'scrap metal' is very rude. And indeed, if you had taken the time to actually read the topic, the rest of your remark was pretty obsolete too.

This is not the way to make new friends in a new community, to be honest. I'd like to suggest a change in attitude, if you wish to become a regular member here...

Fred

Show me your "far superior" model, then?  ;)

I suspect that Mr Punta (who actually resides in New Jersey) is not out to make friends.

At 11:54 (UK time) today, he sent me an absolutely obscene and foul-mouthed email, complete with a death wish and other inventive phrases. Not the best I've ever received, but entertaining, nonetheless.

He was too cowardly to identify himself in that email, using a different yahoo address, but my system captures the IP address of the sender and I compared that to Punta's. They are identical.

I hope you guys know the boat is a Pleasure Craft, not an actual tug boat. It is just called an American Tug.

Well it started out as a tug but after the hull went a bit wrong I decided to try a new technique which has produced the final result.

This is not an american tug anymore by the way. Just a craft I'm working on for a bit of experience  :)

Thanks for the comments too guys, I really do appreciated them. Does anyone have any suggestions though? How could I improve the model?

Thanks,
Adam

How about some masts on top of the cabin, and some random scattered objects on deck, e.g Hammer, Ladder etc.

Thanks Nathan, your idea have been noted. By the way, what sort of hammer are we talking about? I assume it's not a DIY hammer ;D

Just a basic workhammer that you'd find on a boat  :P

On bigger vessels, they have a whole workshop with all different shapes and sizes of tools.

haha on my last one I had an axe sitting on the engine cover! :D

Fantastic job on the model though, like Nathan said, a few scattered objects gives the model a natural look (I find anyway :))

Fantastic job anyway!

Thanks Jack!

Nathan - I'll put a few objects together soon, see what I can come up with. Might try and add some railings too, as that will add a more boat-like look to the vessel :)

Again, thanks for the comments, it keeps me going with this 3D passion of mine  ;D

Here's another rendering. This one took a few hours to render, but I think it's damn worth it  ;D

Second one was a quick rendering - enjoy!
