I hope you guys know the boat is a Pleasure Craft, not an actual tug boat. It is just called an American Tug

He started to make a model of this boat http://powerandmotoryacht.com/boat-tests/american-tug/american-tug-41-MAIN.jpg , but changed his mind while modeling, if I'm correct. This model is American Tug 41

Hi guys,

Well the original model was going to be the American Pleasure 'tug'. I can't for the life of me see why the Americans call them tugs, as they're really just pleasure craft.  ???

However, the model did not go very well, so I decided to start a fresh, and this time it worked a charm. This is the boat you see in my latest screenshots.

Right now, I'm working on the boat, so you may well see some very nice screenshots very soon. Stay tuned!! :)

they call them tugs because they look like tugs, www.americantug.com (http://www.americantug.com) www.nordictug.com (http://www.nordictug.com) they're both tugs styled hence the name :D

Well I've made an update guys. Hopefully you will like it!! The texture of the desk needs to be changed to something which suits, and a few other bits needs texturing properly but the other bits look good.

and yes, I designed everything you see here from scratch. No template models or imports!! ;D

Dual control. Sort of like aeroplanes if you see what I mean. I don't know if this is done on smaller craft such as this boat but I thought it would look good :)

Not using Gmax, just Hexagon for modelling and Carrara for rendering and texturing (with bump maps ect)

you might have seen his topic about his graphic card, so I guess he's not able to do much modeling, but that's just a guess.

Hi guys,

Yes unfortunately I am unable to continue modelling at the moment due to my graphics card. I've not done any further work on this vessel yet but I hope to continue the model as soon as I can.

I'll post when I have any further information. It's very frustrating not being able to do any work :'(

Cheers,
Adam

Hi guys,

You'll be pleased to know that I have started to continue with my model since I upgraded my computer a little.

Here are the most recentl renderings of the vessel, with new additions :)

Comments, suggestions and wishes are all taken onboard (no pun intended ;D)

Very nice! Would be nice to see even more vessels in Ship Simulator. Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't the purpose of this vessel highly similar to the classic yacht from SS06 and 08's add-ons?

Hi RMS,

Classic Yatch, I think you must be mistaken because the classic yatch was just that... a yatch. This is a workboat, not a cruiser ;)

Also, you didn't say anything about the model or pictures hehe :)
