  I wish I could say that I have done so myself, too, but – alas …
  It was a consuming passion and interest in my younger years, but I’ve never had opportunity to conduct any marine-bio (or other) research myself.
  It’s still an abiding fascination.
 
  It sure sounds as you’ve had some rich, exciting and (I’ve no doubts) rewarding experiences – when you know what you’re looking at, thumping rocks is fun!  ..Way to go!  
  
  I don’t know of any particular vessels myself, either – but am sure any of those you’ve mentioned would at minimum serve just fine – and in all probability be superb and just the sort of vessel I have in mind.
 
  I really would love to see at least one such in Ship Sim.
  That would make me happy!

I'd settle for less ships and more environments. I know I can't speak for everyone but I get bored with the same environments.

VSTEP have said no military ships will be included in Ship Simulator unfortunately.

Maybe they changed their minds.
I saw a vid of a navy frigate for ship sim pro.

Anyway, i voted for fishing vessels, cruise liners, war ships, record breakers, yachts and tankers.

Yes, I agree, I really mis that.

And of course, I would like the "Elisabeth Boye" to be in the game too. I sailed with that ship for 6 months, from the Carribian to Montreal, then from Montreal to the Meditaranian ending up in the Indian Ocean. It was a lousy ship, however, and I never want to go with it again. But it was worth the trip halfway round the globe.



And here is a shot from the aft. Behind the open door is the galley. On the midle deck, just next to the red box, there was a small table and a bench. I liked to sit there in the morning, when the weather was good, drinking a quiet cup of coffee.

My vote was for record breaking ships. My wish is for this LNG ship " Mozah" The largest as of now.

Icebreakers!

Think of the missions that could be done up with icebreaking in mind! Escorts, rescues, scientific expiditions, patrols, ect. The sonar could be used to watch out for those nasty iceburgs too, that would be neat. The locales would be good for the framerate too with no super crowded ports or shipping lanes. Not sure if Vstep could model ice and damage that would be required, but it sure would be cool.

The above missions also scream multiplayer too. Oh the possibilities...

I want to see more medium sized cruise ships such as the carinval Imagination or The World in Ships Sim 2008.
