On expeditions with Norwegians and Dutch, I never learned one that long. Perhaps Germans can rise to the challenge.
The longest expletive that I can remember came from Hermann—an FE from Voith-Schneider—as he was removing the Schubkurbelkinematik from our after propeller.

Actually, Schubkurbel looks like a Piston..

We'll leave it to Motor Vessel Smith to explain..

Here, in tiresome detail, is more than you ever wanted to know about the Voith-Schneider propeller:

Actually, “Crank” in this context, “kurbel” being the operative part.
Crank kinematics is the system of linkage that controls the cyclic pitch angles of the blades.

Here is what it looks like after removal. A size 36 VSP has a blade circle diameter of 3.6 meters; to give you an idea of the size—and why it takes six people to handle it in one piece.

Learn, people, how to make the right ones!

DIAMANT you should take part of 'the picture of the month competition' with this picture! I am sure that you should make a chance to win.

Thanks, guys. Actually that picture is a little edited with colors.
This is the original one:

I've already put AS at the sunset picture in POTM competition. Do you think that with Titanic it'll be better?

I think that the one with the agile solution is much better!  so dont use another picture.

Sorry for waking up an old topic...but I couldn't resist posting some pictures of Titanic that I took yesterday.

She's a lovely ship to sail on high graphics...here's a few I took from my 'short' trip:

Hi Adam,

I thought about making a new topic but couldn't see much of a point, since after looking through this thread there are some very nice pictures here that people might want to look at. I was hoping to post more pictures too, so thought it would make good use of the current topic.

Jack :)
