I'd say a cruise ferry would be great. Why not adding Color Fantasy/Magic or for example a Viking Line or Silja Line ferry? I really love those ferries!

We really need bigger ships in the sim, and not repeats of the same sort of ships, there seems to be a lot of people wanting small craft,fishing boats,or ferries, I know we have the titanic as an ocean liner but it would be nice for something more up to date in the way of an Ocean liner,or cruise ship.
Is there no interest in them ?, I know that they would take time to do as there would be much more to detail but at some point it would be great.

JDB,

They are planning an add-on (free) for ships which were in 2006 version. So in the last quarter of this year (to the best of my knowledge) you will be able to play SS2006 ships in SS2008!

Do a wee search on the forum and you should be able to find a few topics about this.

Well, I guess one could say that more or less every kind of ship which I might have thought of has been addressed here already

. But, just for the record: I personally would especially love to see a scenario involving any Scandlines ferries in the Baltic. Maybe the "Vogelfluglinie" or Rostock-Gedser, along with the appropriate vessels. I might even be willing to pay for such an add-on, provided it was well done.

For SS2008 in the future. a cruise ship would be nice. Also, a submarine (if possible).

How about a ship editor? A few input variables would be needed, like length, width, draft, engine power, propulsion and thrusters for example. Add some skins and the gamers can create their custom ships.

I would love to see somthing like a ski boat where the player can controll the boat or controll a water skiier through a course as the boat goes on auto pilot and we would controll the skiier around bouys or over ramps and an option to drive the boat and see if we can get the skiier all the way through with out crashing them or going to fast. using the power boat or jet skii.

What about a twin turbine powerd off shore racing boat 4000+hp 200+mph would be fun. or possible a some what fast moving fire boat and some mission where we can put out fires on other boats and fires near land.or improvise some on mission when we crash a boat a fire can start and then all of a sudden a fireboat pops up on the side we can click and if we can get to the boat we crashed and get the fire out the damage will go away and we can continue on our mission? is that stupid any one think?

I think some relative small ships need to come in SS08. Like the blue/white with cranes of the add-on of 2006. Maybe a 18-21 knots feeder of around 150 meter; fairly easy to manoeuvre, still quite big and fast. For instance the 'Encounter' or 'Echo' owned by JR Shipping. Maybe if they are doing the 'Echo' you can also try to make the cranes moving so we can load/discharge with ship's gear.

Like I said in an other topic, the Mighty Servant 1 or 3 or similar ship. This ship is able to submerse to let oil rigs/yachts on board and take it over the ocean.

Of course the 'Rotterdam' cruiseship formely owned by Holland America Line should be in the Shipsim. This cruise ship has a great history, is beautiful and is now being restorated to serve later on as a congress/hotel in Rotterdam.

Also (betonningsvaartuig) 'Rotterdam' for laying buoys, if the name is too confusing you can also use the name 'Terschelling' which is the same type of vessel. Maybe it is possible to make missions for making your own fairway etcetera.

The Emma Maersk, I know what it is to sail on big ships(8750 TUE) IRL, but this one is off course much bigger again. Or the new 13.000 TUE ordered by Peter Dohle/Hamburg Sud(if I'm correct the design of Hyundai Industries & Germanische Lloyd) which has the bridge on 1/3 of the length and the engine on 2/3 of the length.

Time will show for us who got enough patience to wait for it. And for those who donâ€™t manage to wait for itâ€¦ wellâ€¦ what are you going to do? Travel in time space or something or look for the time machine that makes the time go faster?
