I'm waiting for Fred to come across this thread... Heh.

But I think he's out riding his unicycle. Now he has that 750cc engine fitted, he keeps roaring around the Moderators Rest Room, until DJM has had enough and throws him out.

Ahoy Denis,
From which version of the Elbe are those screenies taken? I own the version from "The Elbe & Furie Edition", and the windows ofthe Elbe in my edition are far from clear, as I mentioned in an earlier topic.

Ahoy Denis,
Funny, Even the pics from the outside show's them windows 'frosted'
Do You have the NH version installed as well? And the 1.4.2 update?
And can You still hear the horn of the Elbe and the whistle of the Furie?

Yep, I just noticed that on your screenshot.

If you look at Bottman's screenshots (first page of this post), he has transparent windows (like mine) too !

Hu ... Maybe you should buy a good sponge and wash your windows ?! :)

Maybe it is the Dutch Hollands Glorie Elbe conficting with the beta version? Or a graphics glitch?

Ahoy Denis and NathanC
Did one of You ever had a look at this thread?
http://www.shipsim.com/ShipSimForum/index.php/topic,8697.msg98764.html#msg98764
And NathanC, You're right about the version. I've got the BeNeLux version, there could be some differencies between those versions.
Denis, the shots from Bottman You're reffering to are from the Beta Version from Vstep which will (hopefully very soon) coming to the Shipyard.

I have v 1.4.2 , NH, and Elbe & Furie from the ftp. And no, I didn't hear the horn and the whistle of both ... and Elbe windows need to be cleaned.
I bought Furie from the shipyard, and the whistle of Furie works with that version.

Ahoy LucATC,
Glad to learn that I'm not the only one with those dirty windows. I knew all about Your whistle/horn problems, 'cause You're in that thread too. So I guess we better bought the French version, added the language choice, and voila. (Or not).

At this time I only have english versions installed. My Elbe & Furie version is a beta one (file named ShipSim2008.Elbe.Furie.exe , size 31.691.566 bytes) ...

I most older boats about the same age as the Elbe you can see that there is always a wooden cross-hatch under the wheel.

Why??? :-\

I assume that it is there so that if the sea came into the bridge area during rough weather then the platform that the person on the wheel stands on would not be awash and would give him a steady footing?
