Ok, the full details for you:

If you have any version below 1.3, you will need the 1.0>1.4.2 update
If you have 1.3 or above, you will need the 1.3>1.4.2 update (also known as the Incremental update

)

Is there a problem when you first start 1.4.2 that it is really laggy until you restart?

I played a mission with it and I was getting about 5 FPS but after I restarted I was getting well over 85 FPS.

Weird, maybe it had to "cache" some data?

Not that I know of Agent|Austin, probably just a bottle-neck on some of your hardware. Probably cleared itself
