Actually the top speed of the Ocean Star is 27 knots. I tried it in ship sim 2008.

Hi explosives124

Well I just took all the speeds from the specifications that are stated in the game..

I haven't checked her speed ingame personally. I hardly ever go full speed anyway, I mostly sail in harbors and it's not always wise to go as fast as you can in those enviroments. :)

And amazingly the "Bugsier 2" is one knot faster when going astern, both in real and simulation! It's because of her underwater shape...

Cheers

Don't forget the hat too, as that's an accurate measurement in windspeed :D

I find her really confusing design-wise. She's not a proper 'escort tug' in the strict sense, but she runs faster going astern?! (Tractor tugs designed to escort usually run stern-first, but the B2's stern doesn't look like the bow, if that makes sense lol)
I love it though, and it's causing me to miss out on all the other new ships!

Something i noticed during the game. The Red Jet has a top speed of around 40 knots with the engines at 500 rpm, the Agile Solutiun has a top speed of 17 knots with 5000 RPM  :-\

It doenst make sence, big vessels has engines with a low rpm like the Vermaas and Latitude. High speed vessels have engines with more RPM, but not more then let's say 1800 rpm.  ::)

The way i post in here is because the speed is related to the rpm so instead of making a new topic i put it in here.

Hi Jayshum,
Is there any significance in your use of the Svitzer logo under your title? I just noticed yesterday that "Svitzer Bidston" has that logo on her funnel rather than the normal Svitzer logo of a Maltese cross.

Speaking of top speeds the Royal Mail Steamer Titanic has 23kn in speed and she can only do 21 max in SS08.It says in a documentary on the history channel about Titanic called "Titanic, the Complete Story", which i have myself. The DVD looks like this http://store.aetv.com/html/product/index.jhtml?id=70411.
