But how does that fit in this game, where almost everyone participating is not privy to that information..?   :-\

What has yet to be modeled in this corner?

(Hint: look on the deck above)

Which would be...? ;D

It's purpose can be hinted at by an object on the deck above.

(About that scene: why did the guy need help from his friends if there was a ladder right there?)

he was a third class man, and he was not allowed up to first class decks, and he had to sneak by first or second class passengers after climbing up. And it was only for the crew to climb up.

Areas being only for the crew never stopped him from doing stupid things before.

Anyway, we drifted off topic.

What was it?

Hint: Look above the spot.

That IS the object that hints at its purpose, but not the object itself.

Nobody got it.

The answer was: A cargo hatch!

This is the location of the starboard section of Cargo hatch #4, with the other hatch in the corresponding location on the port side. The hint was the small crane on A deck above, used with these small hatches.

Cargo hatch 4 stopped at G and Orlop decks, where all the food was stored. The fact that these hatches were for loading food is also why the hatches and corresponding cranes were smaller than those on the rest of the ship.

Anyone can go next.

A badly designed VLCC Berth, where to fit the ship has to be vertical?
