Nope, I said it would be a surprising one..
Hint: it's in New Horizons.. :)

Ah, it's Agile Solution with 5000 rpm. Like it very much on MP.

Maybe it's because it's such a large ship?

-But we get off topic.. ;)

I think it's ok for Latitude - 2 stroke low speed diesel engine with direct power output to the prop. Large ships with single engine usually have diesels of this type.

Last bit off-topic: perhaps there wasn't any room on agile for such a BIG engine and BIG prop :)

Or, perhaps they just did the RPM wrong, remember the titanic once had 5000rpm

:D If Titanic (!) once had 5000 rpm, then 5000 rpm for Agile - that's another mistake by Vstep, or maybe it's equipped with turbo. Agile Solution's design is based on Deo Volente (www.hartmanseatrade.com), SO, according to the ship particulars, it's powered by Wärtsilä 8L32  engine, which has power output 3680kW at 720 - 750 rpm  (http://www.wartsila.com/Wartsila/global/docs/en/ship_power/media_publications/brochures/product/engines/medium_speed/w32_tr.pdf,    page 15)

Oopsy, offtopic  :D

Screaming hysterically, and running around in wild panic seems like a good option.. :)

Spend your time by playing SS08  (using emergency diesel-generator) & hope that someday you'll reach the land or you'll be saved.......    :D :D :D

The better way is jump into the sea with anchor in hands  :D (I suppose, this should be in the "Joke of the day" topic)

This is a rather "vague" question, do you have another bbydino..?
Of course, we are all curious what to do in your described circumstances..

Here are two pictures of the Vermaas..One in Rotterdam port and one in the Northern Atlantic..
As you can see, the waterline is identical in both pictures..
Would they be?   If not, why..?
