Hi Zane,
Of course, no problem.
We talking about the editor right? Not the game itself? If you haven't got the editor, then ingame, there is no way to put an iceberg into a mission.
You will have to upgrade your game to at least V1.1 to run the editor.
You can grab the patches here: http://www.shipsim.com/downloads/patches.php
First you must update to V1.1 (503 MB)
Then you must install the editor (5 MB)
And after that you can install V1.1 to V1.3 (227MB)
Ok, about the editor then;
AI means artificial intelligence. Or... the autonomous vessels in the game. the pc controlled units, so to speak.
Static objects are just, well.. static objects. Some can be used to have a specific task in a mission. Others can just serve as eyecandy.
In the mission editor, you can place these objects. Aswell as player ships. You can then add waypoints with objectives, make AI paths (pathways for the 'pc controlled traffic' to follow), so you can just build a mission, to make a long story short.
The best thing to do would be to take a look at the manual for the Mission Editor. There is an official one in your root Shipsim 2008 folder. And there is also a great mission editor tutorial on the forum too, whihc you can find here: http://www.shipsim.com/ShipSimForum/index.php/topic,3653.0.html
These will tell you what you need to know to start off creating your own missions. And you'll see soon enough where you can select these objects and much more. I hope this helps!
Regards,
Fred
