I can see this thread becoming the longest on the forum.  Imagine that, the people on this forum being more bothered about Marmite than the ability to switch engines on and off!  :D

Too much Salt is bad for you of course, but OXO's salt content can help to fight mouth/throat infections ;)

Indeed, simple as having a bucket on stand-by........I would recommend it if you're gonna over-indulge on Marmite :P :D

Actually I think OXO is just as good as Bovril, nice to have it handy like this though. My picture edit is a bit crude (Like Marmite ;)) but it's my first effort, I couldn't resist the temptation to try,  :P.I really wanted to put Stu in the picture, but that was beyond my abilities!! ???

Gravy ???

OXO is a stock and seasoning agent, gravy is the end-product that comes from using OXO (among other things) :P

I prefer the traditional method of making gravy personally, using 'proper stock', but most people don't bother now ::)

Anyone remember 'gravy browning'?  Also used as a 'fake tan' after the war apparently ;)

Probably worked great, until it rained :D

Spambot used to use a burnt match to put "Seams" in their fake stockings. I'm really giving away my age now aren't I? :-[  Tights had not been invented then never mind nylon stockings!!!!! :o ::)

I got told most of this from 'older' relatives, fascinating stories to be honest, just like you have Traddles with your post in that add-on ships topic :)
