I can see this thread becoming the longest on the forum.  Imagine that, the people on this forum being more bothered about Marmite than the ability to switch engines on and off!  :D

Too much Salt is bad for you of course, but OXO's salt content can help to fight mouth/throat infections ;)

So a LITTLE bit of oxo is good for you? OK. That's fair enough. Thanks for that.

So if you eat too much oxo containing salt it's bad? yes?

Well, you can eat as much marmite as you like. Or as much as you don't like, before you say it! Simple.  ;D

Indeed, simple as having a bucket on stand-by........I would recommend it if you're gonna over-indulge on Marmite :P :D

Actually I think OXO is just as good as Bovril, nice to have it handy like this though. My picture edit is a bit crude (Like Marmite ;)) but it's my first effort, I couldn't resist the temptation to try,  :P.I really wanted to put Stu in the picture, but that was beyond my abilities!! ???

Your picture edit is fine, especially for a first effort ;)

I do agree with you on Marmite being 'crude' though ;D

Very nice picture, traddles...

DJM: I'm not sure the skipper of that ship will appreciate you spilling GRAVY all over the bridge.

Gravy ???

OXO is a stock and seasoning agent, gravy is the end-product that comes from using OXO (among other things) :P

I prefer the traditional method of making gravy personally, using 'proper stock', but most people don't bother now ::)

Anyone remember 'gravy browning'?  Also used as a 'fake tan' after the war apparently ;)

Probably worked great, until it rained :D

Edit:  'Fake Tan' & 'Stockings' ;D

Ladies used to use a burnt match to put "Seams" in their fake stockings. I'm really giving away my age now aren't I? :-[  Tights had not been invented then never mind nylon stockings!!!!! :o ::)

LOL, not at all ;D

I got told most of this from 'older' relatives, fascinating stories to be honest, just like you have Traddles with your post in that add-on ships topic :)

That's one of the things I love about this forum, such a diverse group of people, you can't help but be fascinated by it all ;D

OK DJM... We all believe you... Don't we lads. DJM was only a lad in the 70s... No, I really DO believe you. I'm sure  :D

Back in the days when everyone lived on a diet of Marmite.

Joking aside, when you look back at how basic life was then... Hard to believe we are in the same lifetime...Oh dear. I'm getting old. (NOTE: NOT as old as DJM  ;) )
