FYI—RW3 Manuals & other Documents:
Unlike some other games, RailWorks provides comprehensive documentation not only at the Player level, but also at the developer level.
Player manuals in PDF form are installed on your computer with the game, and supplemented with manuals for content that you download through S.T.E.A.M:
In the first screen (RWOS1) when you start RW3, there is a button in the upper left to take you to the official RW site where you can find links to developer information and other forums and sources.
But for now, click the “Tools & Docs†button on the menu bar at the top of the screen.
RWOS2 shows four blue links on the right side below “Documentsâ€. These take you to the primary manuals that were installed with the game.
In particular, the Creator Manual has very clear instructions for placing DL content into scenarios.
The “Open Folder†button below the links takes you to the folder that holds all of the manuals that have been installed.
RWOS3 shows a part of the list of manuals installed on my computer.
You can double-click to read a manual, or you can right-drag it onto your desktop and either Copy it there or create a Shortcut. I don’t recommend moving it.
If you copy it, you can move the copy to a laptop or I-Pad so you can read it while you are in the game.
RW3 is well-behaved—at least on my Win7 64-bit—so you should be able to use the “Windows logo†button to switch to the desktop to read a manual, and then use one of the RW buttons on the taskbar to return to the game. You should find that the game has paused—click Continue.
