What model is that then/ Must be in the 9XXX range?

If so, it has dedicated graphics memory and is WELL worth the upgrade price.

Even thought the dual core technology doesn't mean everything runs twice as fast (only supposed to be for multitasking) my experience is that so many programmes DO run far quicker on a dual core (maybe made of several kernal programmes etc) that I find adding about 60-75% of the speed onto the processor is about right.

So your 1.6 would IN MY OPINION be comparable to a standard 2.8 ghz.

What country are you based in? The exact models change between countries. I was looking at the 6330- probably broadly the same.

Stu

EDIT: Remember that the Turion is purpose made for laptops and is very power efficient. Much better, IMHO, than the Intel equivelent.

Well I'm running Ship Sim 2006 on this comp, ok it's a little fps hungry, and my computer doesn't even meet the minimum specs for this game

currently running:

512mb ddr333 memory
1.8ghz amd athlon 2500+
128mb nvidia 6200

Even though I don't meet the minimum Specification it still should run right? SS06 does :)

I should be right to run the game, processor isn't too good though, my specs are as followed:

Operating system: XP
Processor: AMD Athlon XP 2400+ MMX, 3DNow, 2.0 Ghz
Memory: 1280 MB RAM
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce 6200

If anyone thinks I'm not right please tell me as I'm not 100% savvy with the technical aspect of computers.

Thanks!

You should be good to go there, the 2400+ although it's classed as a 2ghz CPU, it's actually performance rated as 2.4ghz.....hence the '2400+' ;)

Thats a relief. I'm based in Canada, but I'm sure the model you're looking at is close.

That's what i've heard, but I've also heard the reverse :o

Remember that you can't upgrade components (only memory) so you are stuck with it.

It should give you a good laptop, but I would still go for 2+ghz though if you can, even if you have to save for it.

Otherwise they are really good units and like for like clockspeed an AMD will run rings around an comparative speed intel (although many would say the reverse of course).
