i have just recived ship sim extremes today and when installing i had to get steam but i have entered my code correctly and when i open up to play ship sim it says "failed to contact key server", im 13 and i have enjoyed ship sim 08 but im kinda upset about it and steam is a heap of (a bad word

) and i cant even play it or do the update from ship sim website because it says there is no installation file, this is a real let down and im upset so i dont know what to do because i paid for ship sim (obviously) and i have heard about other problems to. also paradox is also a let down.

That's not a very nice way to introduce yourself to the forum now is it?

This issue is currently being worked on by Steam and will be fixed shortly. Please have a little patience and allow time for the company to resolve the issue

Hi Mullet,

It may well be hours, but there is not certain time that it will be fixed. All I know is that Steam are working to fix this issue as soon as possible.

I would recommend you keep trying to activate your copy, and you should get through eventually

i activated it but it is just saying it is failing to contact key server? shall i try reinstalling ship simulator?

No problem,

You could try reinstalling, follow the guides stickied in the technical support boards, they should give you some guidence

Sorry about that, you won't be able to see the technical support section since you haven't registered your copy of ship simulator in your forum profile yet.

If you do this you will gain access to the boards

Same here the steam thing worked and I got in but the screen just remained black for about 10 minutes. I'm restarting my computer and see if that helps.

I'm installing it on my new laptop and I hope my desktop PC works. Would you recommend installing the patch 1.1?

Hi Sean,

The patch should be applied to the Steam version either already or in the near future.

You cannot apply the downloadable patch from Ship simulator on the Steam boxed version I don't think.

Ok thanks that's probably why it won't let me install it. Steam says it all up to date now.
