Beta Testing
« on: August 29, 2010, 10:21:10 »

I have still to receive my boxed version, so I cannot speak from experience. But I do speak from many years as a Software Quality Assurance engineer,

From what I am reading in these forums about all the multiple problems people are having, it does beg the question - Was any serious Beta Testing done on Ship Simulator Extreme, before it was allowed to be shipped.

I was really looking forward to getting this, as I have enjoyed SS 2008 for many years.

However, now I am not so sure, there seems to be precious few reports that have anything good to say about this new version. I think I will keep it boxed, in preparation of sending it back for a refund, if the situation does not seriously improve.

Too many people are complaining for it just to be coincidence.

So, I ask again - Was this new version given serious Beta Testing before being passed as fit for purpose

I have read that Vstep hope to have a patch by the end of the week to fix some of the problems. There are not many companys out there that will try and fix it that quick in fact in SH5 they had to wait afew months for the first patch and that did not improve it that much and many other games are the same. So Vstep are quicker than most.

Thank you for your reply - I appreciate it

As I said, I was speaking from no hands on experience. If all the problems people are talking about are to do with multi-play, fine. I can understand that could be problematic with a million different computer specs.

No problem with your English, by the way, considerably better than my Norwegian.
