Clanky, If you don't send some of that heatwave my way I will make you serve on a old, clunky ferry that has a dodgy main engine for the rest of your carrer, Did I mention that it has a bow rudder? A very rusty, old, broken bow rudder...

Danny, I am presently serving on an old, clunky ferry which has been converted into a cruise ship and has not only two dodgy main engines, but 4 dodgy generators as well (in fact she presently only has 3 dodgy generators and one completely goosed one)

As for the bow rudder, I would just have it welded up, I may even have it welded up at around 5 degrees to port just to keep the deckies on their toes! :D

No problem, about 50% of the course alterations are to port anyway. Thanks for helping out

Thats engineers for you, always doing a botch job, then saying that it was for a valid reason
Although wouldn't weilding it at 5 degrees to port cause you more issues that it would solve? After all, the main steering gear would either be jammed at 5 degrees to stbd to compensate, or the deckies would keep the engineers on there toes by making the rudder dance. then again, the deckies could be really evil and have more load on one shaft than the other.
