A mission editer question
« on: May 19, 2010, 03:11:05 »

I have noticed in the New York environment that in certain locations, such as the container terminal, there are blue, translucent boxes with arrows above them simular to entry and exit points, but they don't show up as such on the charts. I have searched high and low in all the manuals and havn't been able to find an explanation of them. Are they places where you can define unloading waypoints? Also, can anyone offer a suggestion to a beginner on how to define unloading waypoints for the pontoon, and the new barges in the Herc. superpack? Thanx Guys.

Hi Nightowl,

Those are default entry points when there is no teleport trigger specified.
In a bold blue topic on the Missions board, you can download the Mission Editor tutorial and the Missions Manual.

Am I right in saying you can see them in the 'Choose Start Location' on the Free Roam menu? Because I think they're the spawn points for FR too.

What they are for is for 'random' entry into an environment,
when there is no teleport trigger specified.
An environment change in a mission requires both a Trigger_ChangeEnvironment trigger and a Teleport trigger, where Trigger_CE is the point at which you leave an environment, and Teleport is where you arrive in the new one.

If no Teleport trigger is created, the vessel will spawn in one of those boxes.
