Just check that the Vstep folder is gone, and the SS08 folder in documents and settings, desktop icons. Then there should be nothing left. Install the patch on a clean game, do not overwrite the old patch. Then I smell problems ;)

You have the 1000th reply or 1001st post - I didn't actually count them to be sure though  ;)

Just downloaded the patch and after about one hour of playing I am very impressed so far.
The mission editor is great.
Thanks to all, worth the wait.

Full Kudos to the guys at VSTEP, and also to the users who tried out the beta version of patch 1.1 which helped them to iron any last-minute bugs.

I am very inmpressed with the final version of patch 1.1

It's definately worth the wait!

no its not a stupid question at all. any question to which you do not know the answer is not stupid (there are a few exceptions from a few other people ;) )

The mirror servers are just additional server locations to stop everyone all trying to access the one server... Better to always try and find a server closer to you as it is generally faster.

I'm very dissapointed that the moving instruments/console in the Hovercraft were not sorted out, even after the reports that were made about it.
Also the bow waves are less & lower quality than before the patch. For example, in the Sherpa in high sea's, you should get the big splash as you punch through the swell, but you dont get it really, certainly not like previously. Anybody else have the same issues?

I've always thought the bow splashes were not exaggerated enough, but then again not many people have mentioned it.

Still an awesome game though!

Come on! Give them a break. They've just been working flat out on 08 then 2 patches and I would have thought the next thing will be the converstion of the 06 add on to 08.

I'm not terribly convinced that they are, to be honest. That would have to be a deliberate work by Vstep to lower the quality/quantity of the waves. Why would they do that?

I wonder if some of the other updates are using more memory/ cpu power and that is automatically reducing the bow waves. Like I say, I haven't noticed.

Hiya all :)

I posted something in Technical Support that may offer an explanation about reduced quality, or the game not working correctly:
