You gotta register your serial number on this site. Click on Profile at the top and enter your serial number into that page. Then you can access the technical support forum where the link to the patch is

Anyone knows if we'll have to download it again or will it be the same as the "RC" patch we already have ?

Also, if we have to re-download it, should we do a fresh installation of the game or can we install it over the v.1.1"RC" installation we already have ?

I'm glad you asked that. I was thinking the same thing!  :)

The RC patch is a Release Candidate and not the final release. You will have to download the final version when it's ready. You will probably have to do a fresh installation of the game when the final version of the patch arrives, but I'm not sure about that. Installation instructions will follow when the patch is ready.

Thanks for the fast reply groennegaard  :)

Looking forward to get the patch!
(and hopefully resolve my issues with the game, but that's off-topic)

OK before the mods flame me - I've swam through all 39 pages of this thread, and looked over the SS site, and I cannot locate a patch download link that works (for ANY SS08 patch).

Can someone please post a link?  If we are having bandwidth issues, then can we have it on multiple servers?

I'm also seeing screenshots of all kinds of different boats and ships for SS08, yet I cannot find a thread on how to add them or where to download them.  Again, I'm sure it's on the forum somewhere, and a week or so of searching may yield a result, but I've been looking for an hour with no luck.  Any help

Thank you!

Drew

btw... http://www.vstepsupport.com/ShipSim2008/Downloads/ShipSim2008_Update_v1.1_RC.exe  is giving me a "Page Not Found" error.

Drew,

The links to the RC-patch (Release Candidate) have been removed because later on today the final version of the patch will be released.

Cheers,

Do we know if the 'bugs' from the RC patch have been fixed?

While I'd love to have the new craft there does seem to be a lot of issues with the patch... or will there be a patch for the patch ?

Thanks

Hans

That information is not known at this time.  I believe that we can expect some differences because of any fixes, but this is my own personal opinion, not the official standpoint :)

There is no definitive time on when the patch will be available.

Please bear in mind that the release for today was approximate, as stated earlier in this topic:

Okay, thanks! I hope it is in the next three hours or we'll be hitting peak time and it will probably take me all night to download it!

Dom,

Please re-read the post. there is no guarantee that it will be released today... It was APPROX 12th Sept... Look at the length of comments in the bug reports.

Probably the patch will be released tomorrow. This to make sure there are enough mirrors available.
